Please provide, if you will, a synopsis.

From what I’ve heard, without clicking on your link, you have Texans who have wanted to secede for some time - (they actually were their own Republic before joining the union and some might say they actually have a case - not that I support that in present circumstances) and now you have California liberals wanting to secede.

Are there others?

The whining DU crybabies want to cut the South off from the rest of the USA. Why? Because the South is filled with racist Trump rednecks. (How’s that for profiling?)

Anyway, the DU folks just can’t come up with a decent new border, seeing as how - except for western California and some large cities - the entire USA is Trump country.

Basically, a leftard wants to let “rightwingers ... have the entire South,” thinking that we’ll effectively exterminate ourselves with “global warming” in a few years.

He/she/sh*t also characterizes us derogatorily as “fundamentalists” (ironically, they are the most solid fundamentalists in their own ideology without admitting it) who want our own “small government” (another derogatory slight.) It seems that government is their god.

Split the country in two and be done with it

Rightwingers can have the entire South. In a few decades it’ll be barely livable due to global warming, but since they don’t believe in it, we can easily convince them to move. Unfortunately they won’t be able to easily migrate north later because of the wall they would likely end up building to protect their sacred society from liberals.

They can stew in their own shit — i.e. the fundamentalist, “small government” utopia they’ve always dreamed of.

But then it collapsed and broke up. They would like to see the same thing happen to the United States.

Cutting loose the southern states that are economically challenged would be like charter schools taking only the best students. Per capita stats would go up if we excised the southern red states, but would we be truly better?

61. This country is too large to manage. Government is in total gridlock
and accomplishing nothing positive for most of the people. Wall Street creatures have taken over and are prepared to add trillions to the national debt so the wealthiest can have even more. Insanity rules each day and it only gets worse minute by minute. Smaller countries with far fewer layers of government would be more efficient and would reduce costs.

Wanted to edit to say maybe I’m painting with a broad brush here, but my experience living in the south has been pretty negative. There is an attitude here of “I got mine, screw everyone else.” I’ve listened to people complaining about how “the blacks” don’t do anything, how women shouldn’t have abortions, how a soldier with PTSD who committed suicide is going to hell. I’ve never seen so much garbage on the side of the road or so many stray dogs running around. Maybe it’s just this area, but I am not impressed at all. I know there are right wing nutters up north as well, but it just seems to be more pervasive here. I have a young son that I don’t want growing up thinking that this behavior is normal or acceptable.

I am a southerner and live in the south now. My area is republican, but slowly becoming purple. I live in north central Florida. A word of advice, the best southern cities are university towns or coastal town, the in lands and non college towns tend to be backward. Around where I live, you can’t beat Gainesville Florida, or Tallahassee Florida. Orlando is great and progressive, as is Tampa.

Yes, there are still vile racists and people that are not racists but don’t confront racists. On the other side, I see more interacial children than I see anywhere in the country and I see young people of all races who are real friends, like best buddy friends. To broad brush a region is silly. But having said that, I favor splitting the country up for general social policy and fiscal policy reasons.

32. The point is
That many states, mostly Southern, are written off as unwinnable because they are full of racist Republicans. Other states are hailed as solid blue but really are quite red except for a single high population center.

To relate that to the bigoted OP, it would make more sense give right-wingers NY and PA, carving out NYC and Philadelphia, than to abandon the South.

41. Well, Pennsylvania is certainly chock full of racist Republicans....
Aside from Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and sometimes Scranton. Idiot racist fuckheads from one border to the other. As famously noticed, it’s Pitt on one side, Philly on the other, and West Virginia in between.

But it’s still about population distribution. If New York State is strongly Democratic simply because of the huge population of NYC, then that’s what we must address.

If North Carolina is weakly Republican because of the large population of Republicans (rural and otherwise), then that’s what we must address.

It remains pointless to compare subdivisions of states to try to figure out which subdivisions are almost more Democratic.

During the primaries DU was a good place to post anti-Hillary stuff, as they had a large Bernie contingent. But the Bernie folks have all been pretty much purged.

DU is a crude, vile site. F-bombs everywhere. Good for no one’s mental health, including liberals.

These people are hilarious.

A few replies to this idiocy ...

First, racism is alive and well in their precious Pittsburgh. I’ve lived here all of my life and see it constantly ... mostly from leftist union drunks in local dive bars. If they think Oakland (the home of the universities in the area) is not racist, try and have them explain why they moved all of the low cost housing out of the Hill at Pitt’s request.

Second, they think cutting off the south will make their progressive Utopia look smarter and richer. Don’t they realize why public schools are a total disaster is due to their inner city enclaves?

Third ... it is HILARIOUS to see the left all concerned about Russia. You couldn’t convince these scummy idiots that they really were an evil empire back in the 80s. Now they see the light ... all because of politics.

Fourth ... If they had brains, they’d understand why we conservatives are concerned about power being distributed among the states vs. a large, massive, centralized monster that currently exists ... mostly due to THEIR idiotic mindset!!!

Fifth ... “Could slaves have been freed without the civil war? Was there another way to do it?” ... yes, wait about 10 years instead of forcing the nation to kill one another. It was pretty clear back then that it was dying off (people all across the world were eliminating it). Instead of killing one another, all everyone had to do was wait a decade and it more than likely would have been eradicated naturally like it was everywhere else.

Sixth ... “Agreed. I believe this country should be broken up into as many as 4 to 6 countries. Our current Master Country is to big and too diverse to exist as one. The United States is no longer and never will be “United”.”

How about 50 States being restored their power with a LIMITED Federal Government? They’re frigging buffoons if they think 4 to 6 additional countries are going to live in peace on this continent. Look at what the so-called enlightened people do in Europe once a century ... they seem to like to kill a lot of people. If we weren’t there subsidizing their peace, I’m sure one of the more ornery nations would have already gone on another killing spree.

These people are frigging ridiculous. THey have every single solution to their “problems” if they’d just eliminate the Federal Government’s massive bureaucracy and restore power to their states ... they’d be able to see how idiotic their “solutions” are locally.

Read what some black people have to say about racism in Boston:

https://www.quora.com/How-bad-is-racism-in-Boston

As a person of color who has lived in every major part of the US, including the West coast and the deep south, I can firmly say Boston was the most racist place I have ever lived in. My experiences in the deep south in no way compare to the racism experienced Boston.

For one, regardless of your skin color, Boston is a very insular city. If you were not born there, you will never fully fit in or be accepted.

Now if you are black, understand the city is one of the last bastions of segregation in the United States. If you are black, you do not leave black areas. You can not find housing in white areas, they will not rent to.

Now you are probably thinking, this is the same area that overwhelmingly voted Obama. The birthplace of the industrial revolution and abolitionists started here. The city is known for its liberal bent. How can it possibly be so backwards and segregated at the same time?

Those so called liberals are upholders of the bigotry of soft expectations conundrum. Boston, being so segregated, most of the white population have no experiences with people of color, maybe short of what they see on TV or when they make a worng turn into Roxbury God forbid.

For this reason they will never see you as anything more than some ghetto tragedy that they have to save or keep out at all costs. No matter how educated you are, how much wealth you acheieve, what career you have; they see dark skin and they think tragic story.
