Former CIA Director Leon Panetta said that the Senate Intelligence Committee is going to have to look into the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for funding the controversial Trump dossier during an interview on Thursday.
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Panetta how it was possible that neither “the chair of the DNC and the Clinton campaign” knew about payments for the dossier.
“Well, it’s obviously something that the Intelligence Committee is going to have to look at,” Panetta said. “You know, knowing presidential campaigns, they’re big operations and somehow the left hand may not know what the right hand is doing. And that could be the case here.”
Panetta continued, “I really do think that the committee is going to have to get into this, determine just exactly what happened. Who knew what and when?”
Blitzer followed up by asking Panetta why Clinton campaign attorney Marc Elias didn’t tell Clinton campaign chair, John Podesta, they had paid for the dossier.
Elias was the lawyer was represented the Clinton campaign and DNC, during the election and is alleged to have paid Fusion GPS for the Trump dossier.

Poor Leon. He must have not received the Dem talking points that oppo-research happens all the time, and besides, it doesn’t matter who paid for it.
The fact that wolfie and CNN even acknowledge the existence of the payment scenario means the excrement has fully hit the rotating blades. So the nevertrumpnetwork had to grab the buckets and bail.
Nope. He gave her an out. “I did not make decisions on what was spent or what it was spent on. Therefore I knew nothing about it.”
Hopefully there are enough people involved that at least a few won’t fall on their swords.
Anyone that thinks the DNC and Hillary didn’t know all about this and authorized it is way beyond being a complete fool.

Congressional supervision is for budgeting purposes and to evaluate the need for change to applicable laws. It isn’t supposed to be a substitute for prosecution.

I guess we’ve given up on Sessions.Pain medicine for dental work and post surgery, and basketball coaches are his priority. Have to rely on congressional investigations which are just for show.
You’re right. This just smells too much like a Hillary dirty trick for her not to be deeply involved and not to have initiated it.
