I’m actually happy now we got Mullen. I think he’ll do well in Gainesville. Some of the guys who previously decommitted from UF, are happy with the hire.

Hah! I think I'm in the same boat. For what it's worth I am a lifelong Eagles fan and from watching him here I am well acquainted with Andy Reid's ability to lose when he shouldn't, to collapse after a promising start, and to blow games because he screws up the clock really badly. He's won a lot of games but has two big flaws: he tends to lose to teams he should beat AND he wilts a bit when the plan isn't playing out as expected (which tends to happen deep in the playoffs, explaining how he kept getting getting knocked out in the NFC championship game year after year after year).

He'll turn it around just enough to miss the playoffs by one game, just enough that Chef's fans think he's still got it. That's how he rolls in off years.

True, but I have read that KC’s defense is somewhat banged up. That didn’t mean their offense should have closed down though. I thought that with Taylor performing so poorly two weeks ago that it was pretty much the end. They put him in the latter part of the game the next week, and I guess they decided not to throw him out with the bathwater this week. It’s all part of the craziness of any give week.

Hah! I feel for Chef's fans. I respect the Chef's fans a lot, they are a great group as far as I can tell. So it is not with malice that I chuckle, but rather because I've been there, I feel the pain.

The biggest flaws in Andy Reid are threefold:

1. He is stubborn and will not change. He has run the same outide WR screen behind the line of scrimmage for 20 years and in all that time probably has a net -10 yards. Yet you will see it several times a game because it always works on his chart.
2. He is pass happy even when he has a great ground game and is facing defenses that are suspect against the run but great against the pass. And even when his personnel doesn't support it (bad WRs, for example. Or Alex Smith). This year he's 60:40 run:pass ratio, which is typical. See item (1).
3. Dude can't manage a clock to save his life. He will lose two or three games a year because he has no time outs left after doing something stupid like burning one to decide whether to challenge, then failing on the challenge and losing a second one (which actually happened a couple of times).

And to be clear, I'm not a Reid hater. He's a good coach that gave us Iggles fans lots of good times. But his flaws prevent him from ever being a great coach. IMHO. If you want to win 10 games every year but never win a Super Bowl, Reid is the guy for you. For example ny old man, who lived through 30 years of 2-12 or 3-13 teams was just fine with 10 wins and maybe one or two playoff wins before being ejected in an embarrassing loss each year. And Reid delivered in stellar fashion.

Their offense was the BEST in the league in the early part of the season, now they can hardly score to save their life. :x
