Jim Parsons whom plays Sheldon Cooper on the big bang theory in my opinion proves without a doubt a stupid person can’t pretend to be intelligent

I proved Fermat’s Second To The Last Theorem while I was in college. But I seem to have misplaced the worksheet.

I have a Sister who is average intelligence but she is very good at making people think she knows a lot. It only takes maybe 10 minutes for intelligent people to see through her but some never do.

I also remember a guy who could fake being a great baseball player but it only took a few minutes to figure out that he was not.

When we started practice for our Summer softball team, he told us he had been signed to a pro contract but for some reason, he could not take it.

Actually for the first play or two, he looked like he was good. As the saying goes, he had all the right moves. Unfortunately for him it only took 3 or 4 minutes to realize that he looked good while making errors.

He had a letter jacket which in the middle of the letter were the small letters, MGR. We all knew that meant “manager” but he told everyone it stood for “most games recorded”.

It would have been funny if he wasn’t such a sad sack.

Usually incredible geniuses in certain areas are lacking other types of intelligences. Doesnt help them when they cannot relate to other people, get simple tasks done, cannot physically do normal things, of get addicted to drugs. One relative of mine has a great theoretical mind but has terrible personal skills and has had serious drug problems.

I would bet your Sister uses similar phrases about specific issues and topics that she has mastered.

Thanks, the one I saw today must have been updated.

It included both the Fraud and Trump, and the Fraud’s was lower.

Langan (born March 25, 1952) is an American whose IQ was reportedly believed to be “between 190 and 210”.

The IQ scale is normalized at one standard deviation per 15 points. An IQ of 190 is 9.9x10^-8% of the human population (about 1 in one billion people), 200 is 1.3x10^(-9)% of the population (about 1 in 76 billion people), and an IQ of 210 is 1.1x10^(-11)% (about 1 in 9 trillion people). Source: https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=iq+210

Given the that the world’s population is about 7.6 billion, the IQ for the world’s smartest human should be around 194-195.

Since the revealed Word from God shows that by man came death, and not vice versa, Langan is neither smart nor wise.

Furthermore, since God's existence cannot be discovered nor proved by any man-made construct such as mathematics, Langan is doubly foolish, as is anyone who created a way to quantify his itellect.

According to me.

Faith is the only gift by which the God of another dimension enters a human's rationality.

According to The Pre-existing God.

I will give you an example.

Around 20 years ago, I bought some memory sticks for almost nothing, mainly because it was out of date. It came with a short, maybe 5 minute VHS tape telling you how to install it and showing how you should use a device on your wrist to cancel static electricity.

I had purchased maybe a half dozen of those memory chips and had the same number of tapes. I needed to send her a couple of very short video shots and used one of those throw away tapes to record the maybe 10 seconds.

Well she would tell everyone that she was a computer genius and worked for the local college’s computer lab. Now she may have actually worked for the college but knew almost nothing about computers.

One day some guy was installing some RAM (newer and of a type which did not require you to ground your wrist.

Well my Sister promptly tells him that he should not install it unless he had the proper grounding device.

I knew exactly where she had gotten that bit of info. It was on that cheap VHS tape I had sent her. In a way I guess the ability to fool people takes some intelligence but it mainly takes someone who is brazen.

Exactly. I have known a number of them over the years. There has been a couple I call super geniuses on FR. I really liked one of them even know no one could talk with him here. He knew he was smarter then everyone else and had no modesty about it. He was eventually banned from FR. I never seen him again.

I actually followed his posts here never talked with him unless I was stuck with something I couldn't figure out. Which he did answer.

The other one hasn't posted in years.

What do you do with people like that?

I known one that worked for Litton Industries. The company hired a manager ONLY For him because only that person could get along with him.

very odd.

His claim is based on his self reporting of an IQ test in Omni Magazine

Hardly a rigorous evaluation

Mozart or Beethoven, Mozart said his best ideas came from the mist, I forget what word he used, while going from a walk or horse ride in a carriage.

"Mist" = German word for manure.

Jonathan Swift heartily approves!

I have watched some of his videos and he does appear very smart. But what has he done? Not sure he even graduated from a university. Of course as long as he is happy I guess to each his own.

However I don’t see any accomplishments to go with such self-claimed intellectual superiority. If he is so smart and has such interest and supposed superior knowledge in deep matters why isn’t he working with or for someone like a Leonard Susskind?

There seems to be a disconnect between his statements about the need for a more efficient smarter civilization and the fact he is not really accomplishing much with his gifts. He does talk a good game though.

Modern low voltage DIMMs and CPUs can be particularly susceptible to ESD. Grounding yourself by touching a metal ground or by wearing a grounding strap before doing computer repair/maintenance work is absolutely essential. It is part of CompTIA A+ training certification.

“Faith is the only gift by which the God of another dimension enters a human’s rationality.”

God reveals Himself to people, more often than you’d think.

Don’t know why, or who He’ll choose, but He does.

Not a self reporter

Despite some interest from the "Guinness Book of Records" and a British show called "Record Breakers” in the '80s, Langan was able to live a pretty much anonymous, blue-collar existence until Esquire magazine decided to do a "Genius Issue” in 1999. When the magazine asked prominent members of the high-IQ community who should be interviewed, Langan's name consistently popped up. After he was featured there, "20/20” came looking for him and wanted to verify his IQ. The results: He had broken the ceiling on the conventional IQ tests he was given; his intellect was immeasurable by ordinary standards.

I agree, not 30 seconds in he makes a very stupid statement that he can create things by will. Sorcery is not a high IQ endeavor.

A sardonic con man.
