Merriam-Webster has just announced its “word of the year” for 2017. Drum roll, please…it’s feminism!
The word peaked as an online search after various events occurred this past year, beginning with the Women’s March in January, then again when the film “Wonder Woman” was released, and now it has spiked yet again as a result of the #MeToo movement, which Time magazine has recognized as its “Person of the Year.”
The word feminism was simply “in the air” this year, notes Peter Sokolowski, Merriam-Webster’s editor at large.
Except it kind of wasn’t. For instance, nobody marched in the Feminist March last January – though of course that’s exactly what it was (if the now infamous “pussy hats” didn’t tip you off, the fact that pro-life women weren’t welcome maybe did).
But here’s the funny thing. Feminists always use the word “women” rather than “feminist”—the women’s movement, women’s studies, Women’s March, etc. They do this to give the impression that all women think one way. Or should think one way.
Except all women don’t think the same way, which is why feminism can get sort of tricky. Because in the 18 years I’ve been writing about feminism and its impact on the culture, one thing I’ve learned is that the word itself is entirely subjective.
Americans are divided over what “women’s rights and interests” might be, and it is a divide that falls squarely along party lines: Democrats are more than twice as likely as Republicans to say “more work is needed to bring about gender equality;” and far more Democrats than Republicans “see advantages to changing gender roles.”
So let me lay out for you what feminism means to those who promote it, and then maybe you’ll understand why they shy away from using the word itself:

I am a professional but I’m still devoted to my family and humbled by my savior. Women who think they have to choose are being misled.

A feminist is someone who wants to turn women into angry men.
It ought to be called “Masculinism”, because most “Feminists” are more butch than a lot of men.
The “#metoo” movement is going to change a lot of things. Some for the better, and some for the worse, and some for “unexpected” consequences.
The first 2 are clear (perhaps not completely), but, I’ll just look at the “unexpected” side.
There is no doubt that a great many women get promoted or get fast-tracked on their careers, by performing sexual favors, even when they hate doing it. That’s especially true in Hollywood and in business and in the TV industry. On the TV side, who’s going to believe that a 35-30 year-old female news-person has as much experience and knowledge and time-served as a man who probably has many more years of experience and time served and knowledge? Yet, we see it all the time where a man who is 40-ish to 50-ish is paired with a female that is 20-ish or 30-ish, on the TV screen serving as co-hosts? Somebody got fast-tracked into a higher position because of her gender and good looks and age.
Same thing happens in business and in government and in the entertainment industry.
So, with male bosses being extra careful in how they treat their female hires, will they be progressing in their careers as fast as they have been in many cases? It will still happen, and the “bosses” will try not to get caught, but going forward, there won’t be as many being “fast-tracked” into better and more prestigious positions as in the past before the “me-too” environment of current times.
Everything comes with consequences, some good, some bad, but things will not be the same. Perhaps it’s for the better, and the “me too” age will have finally called an end to the “unfair” practices of using beauty and age to get ahead faster.
Feminists need men like a fish needs a bicycle.
But for some reason they still need birth control and abortions. And lots of it.

Actually, he said “Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of American life.” If it were only “pop culture” that wouldn’t be nearly as bad.
It also serves to turn women into shit-goblins who are incapable of being good wives.
Sending them out of the home into the workplace had the effects of degrading the upbringing of children and allowing the government to double taxes. Two income families? Hell, they only need one; let’s tax away the other.
Putting your ass where your mouth is. Don’t have help you at all in all items.

All most of us want is love, a little appreciation and faithfulness. Most of us value this above money, looks and other things.
TELL us you love us. We love hearing it.
TELL us you appreciate some of the things we do sometimes.' We love that.
And don't think you can get away with sneaking around with another woman. Sooner or later, we just KNOW (Most of us would put a bloodhound to shame)-and things will never be quite the same.
Mrs Deplorable is a feminist, but she loves being a wife, a mom and beautiful. She is college educated (interior design), but she like being a mom and wife first.
Feminists are already liberated from men - because they’re fat, ugly, and butch.
No man would want to get near one of them with a ten foot pole!
