A creepy prehistoric doll with almond-shaped eyes has been unearthed in Siberia.

Another plaything, a mythical dragon-like animal head, made from antler or horn, was found alongside the artefact in the Bronze Age grave of a small child.

The finds have been added to what has been described as 'the oldest toy collection in the world' following a series of 4,500-year-old discoveries in the remote Khakassia region.

The toy, which is made of soapstone, is believed to be the oldest doll designed for play ever found.

How do they know it was designed as a “Toy”?

Looks kind of like the guy in the painting “The Scream” - after he calmed down.

I want to know how they know the pig is a baby bottle.

One thing about the “doll” is that it doesn’t have anything of the look of a fertility figure. It’s beautifully made and in incredible condition.

It’s a collectible action figure. It’s not a doll.

I was thinking the ‘doll’ was some kind of talisman or representation of a deity...

If it were still in the original packaging, it would be worth a lot more.

Yeah, maybe, or a crude horse's head.

I don’t know why they say the other toy had “bushy eyebrows” either. It had some marks to indicate eyebrows but I don’t get “bushy” out of that. I don’t think it looks creepy either. It’s a little bit stylized like a lot of artwork.

I guess that’s just me.
