On Dad’s side, we have Seneca heritage. Dad Has the bluest eyes and is very fair skinned (we all are). We’ve had occasion travel through reservations and have stopped to eat, get gas, etc., and have been ushered to the front of the line.

The first time it happened, Dad asked why and was told “We take care of our own.”. Dad asked how they knew we were part Indian and was told, We can just tell.”. I thought that was odd.

It does!

It also resembles two small statues I have that were buried in fields in Mexico. They used to sell baskets of them in rock stores.
