That’s why I like to call them Progressive Repressives. They are intolerant, tyrannical control freaks. And they are Cry bullies.
Outstanding!
Then the eggs, TP and pints.
It’s going to happen now and then, in every season. Best to know what you might need, and be prepared.
(The reason the cops were outside is because everybody needed to have their windows open, due to the heat; and a lot of those windows were on ground level. It was a thoughtful and reassuring thing for the community to have done.)
Being a neighbor suffering through much of the same I re-discovered the Coleman folding camp oven for about $30 at Amazon.
Biscuits, handmade pizzas and muffins all came out nice, biggest item was 3lb pork, veal, and beef meatloaf. Temp control is an acquired art with these things depending on heat source, so an oven thermometer is essential. Folds down to 13”x13”x3” box for handy storage till needed.
RV cookware for small baking pans, cooking sheettins and muffin tins are available.
Grill mats cut down work terrific, melted/ burned cheese wipes right off as if it were super teflon.
I’ve seen that oven, and like it. There’s a YouTuber named Dale Calder that I like to watch, and he uses one when he camps-out in his little cabin. He did have a learning curve on keeping the temp. right.

How did you make it through the wind? We were afraid our chimney would fall down yesterday. Sometimes it sounded like a tornado overhead.
There is a two foot+ diameter x 60ft pine about 16ft from the house that was swaying well beyond my comfort zone. Have seen similar effects with gusts but the sustained winds were really something. Roof shingles seem to be intact. Locally a few trees down nearby, lots of broken branches.
Watch him every now and again. Odd little chap, walks from his home across the yard to be in the tiny house...his quiet place.
I love him. His ‘winter storm at the cabin’ vids are everyone’s favorites. (I believe it somehow speaks to the child in all of us, and the wonder of childhood - as well as an idea about self-sufficiency and ‘hands-on’ in one’s own survival that most of us don’t get anymore.)
I think it was just a folly of the sort that most people would leave a ‘pipe dream’ - “that would be fun to do” - but he actually did it. He keeps a nice veggie garden and chickens, too. We’ve learned a lot from him.
His folly..best description of Dale’s tiny cabin, in the classic English sense.
