The Internet has a long memory.

And with that one act, Steve Sando, the owner of Rancho Gordo New World Specialty Food, has signaled to the whole world that he’s an idiot.

Yeah, well I got a mailer trying to get me to sign up with SimpliSafe home security services today - after they cancelled their association with the NRA as a result of the Parkland shootings, I’m convinced they have not a clue as to what does and doesn’t have anything to do with security, and will never subscribe to their service.......

Little by little the left divides us every day. One day in the not-too-distant future we will go to war with the left just like the USA is now at legal war with California. Or should I say the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia?

heirloom bean

correct passed generation to generation

typically not modified genetically other than naturally.

I am familiar with heirloom tomatoes - did not know beans were being done also.

Supposedly they taste better than their modern counter parts

I don't buy his beans, but if I did I would stop buying them after this announcement.

Same here. "Shut up and grow beans, bean dude!"

With a name like Rancho Gordo New World Specialty Food, he'd never see me as a customer. The "New World" sounds too Marxist and then there's the conflict between "new" and "heirloom."

I interpreted "New World" as geographical, but you gave me the idea for a satiric protest! "New World" has Colonialist Overtones and triggers bad feelings in me, and of course I cannot in good conscience buy your beans despite your new enlightened position on shipping companies that offer those horrid NRA discounts.

I do not have experience with that variety, but I have had good results growing other types of black tomatoes (for example, Black Prince).

I use an Earthbox self-watering container, and typically grow two indeterminate plants per container (although some might suggest only a single plant per container).

As long as I can keep the critters away, the tomatoes come out fine.

(I'm in southern New England, BTW)

"'The NRA is a really powerful machine that doesn’t allow dialog about gun violence,' said Sando."

We have plenty of dialogue, but we don't have time to listen to Sando. And Sando just gave FedEx much more positive publicity for increased business. FedEx will do better than before, as long as it doesn't turn away from the NRA.

UPS is for the most part union; FedEx is for the most part non union.
