As for Sessions' recusals, those are IMO very well taken. I reject the wingman Eric Holder model that the more vocal Freepers think should be adopted.
Sessions is conflicted out of investigating the Trump campaign because Sessions was a significant player in the campaign. He is conflicted out by the text of DOJ regulations, which allow all sort of other conflicts.
Sessions promised to recuse for going after crooked Hillary or the crooked Clinton Foundation, because he appears to be biased against them. I'm fine with that. There are plenty others who are willing and able to go after the CF, and I do agree, if Sessions goes after CF or Hillary, the effort will be attacked on the basis of Sessions having animus. Not helpful to locking her up.
Rosenstein being careful or not, think of the chilling effect Rosenstein being Huber's boss has on Huber.

Except reading Sessions' March 29, 2018 letter, Sessions tasked Huber, and if there are any questions, contact Sessions. There is ZERO mention of Rosenstein in that letter. A significant omission, if you ask me. And notice that Wray is named as part of Sessions' senior management team.
AAG= deputy AG. I incorrectly call the Deputy AG, the Assistant AG, hence AAG, but I see there is actually a assistant AG on the pecking order.
No busting your chops, but " on so many investigations" is vague and indefinite. Recusals are not vague and indefinite.
Sessions has recused from NOTHING that OIG Horowitz is investigating.
Horowitz jurisdiction is error by DOJ. Error by DOJ is not crime by Clinton, is not crime by Clinton Foundation, is not crime by Trump campaign, is not crime by Clinton campaign.

It happens all the time. The legal question of conflict is a personal one, not an institutional one.
If SC was necessary for every criminal violation by a person in DOJ, we would have scores of SC every year.
The letter by Sessions noted that Huber reports directly to him and then to Deputy AG “as appropriate” meaning. If they have something on Hot Rod or somethings involved him then they are not going to run and tell him. Somebody would have leaked that news if that did happen. Sessions also said he received frequent updates from Huber
