Why Malcolm Jenkins, other Philadelphia Eagles demonstrate -- but don't kneel (Flashback)

--SNIP-- Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins said he has no problem with that form of protest. But Jenkins has instead raised his right fist while standing during pregame anthems for the past 22 Eagles preseason and regular-season games, and he has an explanation for that.

"The reason I don't kneel is not because I think it's disrespectful. It's because I think it's misunderstood," Jenkins said. "I want my demonstration to be effective and received. I think whatever that is is going to be to the individual, but everybody's saying the same thing: We need change. We want to be that vehicle to change

Full Title :Why Malcolm Jenkins, other Philadelphia Eagles demonstrate -- but don't kneel -- during anthems
This article is from Sept of 2017 and it has an interesting tweet from Trump.
Great solidarity for our National Anthem and for our Country. Standing with locked arms is good, kneeling is not acceptable. Bad ratings!
- Donald J. Trump

Disrespecting the Flag has nothing to do with Obama’s war on cops.

I’d like to know what neighborhoods these rich brothers live in.

“We want to be that vehicle to change”. Right. Because everyone watches football to see what social injustice cause will be highlighted on the sidelines before the game starts. Sheesh.

"I want my demonstration to be effective and received."

In what way is this "effective"? It simply makes you look juvenile and hostile for no good reason.

Absolutely. Unless they are all residing in Watts or the projects in any of their various host cities, they are hypocrites.

Protest all you want, on your own time.
Once you enter the stadium, you are on company time.
No one wants to see you kneel or raise a fist.

If playing with signs like a child and refusing to talk to anyone that doesn’t agree with you is “demonstrating” then I hope he keeps it up.

I'd always love to hear their opinions about what's going on in our communities...

No, you really don't want to hear other opinions, especially if they are honest. You have a problem in your communities and the police presence there is the result of those problems, not the cause of it. 72% of your children are born out of wedlock and raised without the guidance of a father. Your school dropout rate is 4 times the non-minority average, despite higher expenditures/student than non-minority schools. You claim racism as the root cause of all your problems, but you have problems in your communities that you don't even attempt to address. You are as racist...perhaps more so...than your white counterparts. Who runs the greater risk: A black man whose car breaks down in a white neighborhood, or a white man whose car breaks down in a black neighborhood?

My advice: start cleaning up your own backyard before you so quickly blame others for not cleaning it up for you. Four trillion dollars on the War on Poverty and 47% of you are on some form of welfare. My feeling: Until we see positive change on your own, why should we throw more money at a problem that is only getting worse?

Who cares?

My guess would be NOT in Philadelphia proper, unless they’re in some place like Society Hill or Rittenhouse Square.
Most of the Philly athletes used to live over in Jersey, in the “exclusive”, woodsy, gated neighborhoods, but taxes are really awful there now. But there are plenty of nice suburban gated communities full of McMansions out in Bucks and Montgomery counties now.

Quite a few do still live here in South Jersey. In fact, Mike Trout still lives here, even though he plays on the Left Coast.

They have unfortunately bought into the “Hands up, don’t shoot” lie. Because of the lying enemedia, they believe that innocent blacks are being shot down by racist police every day. If they’d do a bit of research they’d discover that nearly all police shootings are of criminals, in self defense, and that over 90% of blacks shot are shot by other blacks!

And when there is an unjustified shooting, the cops do face consequences.

I wonder if any of these social misfit millionaires have ever been to the sh*thole neighborhoods on all four sides of Philadelphia? Changing things is not looking like a dope holding a stupid sign, kneeling or raising a fist. They should be role models and give to the communities that they claim to represent.

raising a fist isn’t any better, maybe even worse. It’s a black power symbol being displayed for the anthem.

there are plenty of countries where there are no white cops why don’t the malcontents go live in one of them?
