Having spent many years standing deck watches in hairy situations, I repeat what I said. Whether or not women should be on warships is irrelevant to these collisions. The deck officer has two principal tasks - don't run aground and don't run into anything else. It's pretty simple stuff. But it's like driving on a major freeway in heavy traffic that is flowing 15 mph above the speed limit. It's simple enough if you have some experience and know the moves. If you have never driven a car before you are in a heap of trouble.
Lot's of fooling around goes on, but I find it unimaginable that it was going on on the bridges of these ships. Too many people.
