I feel left out that I dont even get one day of vacation. You cheer me up by reminding me of the horrors that can occur if you leave your house. Thanks.
/dark humor, sorry
prayers up for those injured and family of the victim
Gasoline engine? Fume in the bilge?
Cruises are problematic no matter the size of the ship.
Gasoline engine? Fume in the bilge?
Sounds like it to me.

How could happen with such strict Bahamanian safety standards?/s
People dont realize, these are essentially third world countries. They have the tourist money that enriches them, but sad to say the attitude is the same as sh*thole countries. I had a motorcycycle accident in Bermuda. One of the first responders stole my wifefs $1300 Tag watch while we were incapacitated at the side of the road. They left my $3000 Rolex because it is stainless steeel and low key and probably looked like a Timex to them.
That was my first thought.
Turn bilge blower on before starting engine.
Nice photo of a nice lady
How many trauma centers did they have to fly the victims past to get them to Tampa? Why not fly them on to San Antonio if there was no rush to get them medical treatment?
Turn bilge blower on before starting engine.
For a good 5 minutes.

And this was Bermuda of all places. Our hospital bills were $4500 (thank God I bought insurance- even though it took 6 months to collect)
They were going to see the famous swimming pigs!!
Hmmmm!!!!
.
Had a former neighbor learn this the hard way.
Boat blew up and burned right down to the waterline. The explosion killed his wife and his dog. He was hospitalized for almost three years recovering from burns on more than 90% of his body.
Ive owned a total of 5 boats in my lifetime. The first 3 were outboards so it wasnt an issue. The last two were I/O with big V-8 engines. Id go so far as to open the engine compartment for a while, then close it, and then run the blower.
Gasoline fumes are more easily detonated than dynamite and just as powerful.
