Cats are extremely prolific. Like rabbits. Given that, I doubt very seriously the count will be accurate.

That's what I tell my cats all the time. They ignore me as usual. Unless they want out or are out of food or want a door opened or want me to put water in the bathroom sink so they can get a drink or..............

We did that for a couple years around our home for a couple years; it works, but is so much work! Now that we’ve moved and are citified, we see no stray/feral cats.
