When I lived near Detroit there was a popular t-shirt being sold which read “Detroit: Where the Weak are Killed and Eaten”.
Cut in line there at your own risk.
The staff are technically supposed to sort that out... not the patrons with their fists. There are things I believe are worth fighting for, are worth bleeding for - but this was not one of those instances.
White guy cuts in front of predominantly black line in DETROIT and lives to tell the tale.

I thought the black guy in the T-Shirts and shorts was fairly restrained... lots of talk and warnings.

As a rule, I try to avoid fast food joints that have / need “restaurant security”. But then, I’d avoid all of Detroit by a large margin, too!

Shouldn’t have been physically attacked, but must say I feel zero sympathy for him or hostility towards the black guy who punched him.
I despise and detest line cutters of all stripes, although I did it once myself when the carrier I used to serve on made a port visit near me.
The line to go aboard and get a tour was literally 3/4 of a mile and about 4 hours wait. I was there with a buddy, so I left him there and walked all the way up to the ship, figuring I could simply explain myself to one of the sailors and ask if he could take me aboard. I had to walk through three state police checkpoints, and...just walked through like I was supposed to be there. At one point, a female state trooper who was arguing with a couple of people grabbed me and said I couldn’t go through, I explained and she said no, and as she started arguing again with the people, I just kept going.
So much for security...but I have found that if you walk like you belong there, and talk like you belong there, and look like you belong there, you can get through.
I found myself somehow INSIDE an area surrounded by chain link fence looking up at the ship. I saw a sailor, and asked him to take me aboard (just like I did when going down to the docks on Navy bases as a kid!) explained I had served on her, and he said he would.
So I walked a mile back to my buddy, we walked all the way back through all the checkpoints again, and when we got to the ship, the sailor was nowhere to be seen. We saw a group of people going aboard, so we just got in line behind them and went aboard!
I am normally a guy who will sit in a line of traffic and feel irritated watching people drive to the front and cut in, and I have done an equivalent at least once, so...I guess I don’t have room to complain about it.

I used to do an annual 200 mile charity bike ride. One year, at a rest stop, there were 6-8 porta potties lined up. A friend of mine approached from the side and went in to do his business. When he came out, there were about 40 people standing in line 15-20 feet from the door staring him daggers. Since he came from the side, he hadn’t noticed them going in. He was so embarrassed he personally apologized to each of them.
I thought the black guy showed remarkable restraint.
He needs more bag time..................

Yes it does. It’s the equivalent of someone spitting in your face. Kick the snot out of him.
That’s what I thought, then I thought it may be a setup to provoke an altercation..................
