I hope my mom doesn't see this story.
depends on the context.
I went to the college to pick up some books.
The college is a specific location.
Going to college is not a location.
New Zealand eh? Maybe she thought she was bungee jumping.
Been there, done that, scary as hell!
New Plymouth woman Danni Hogan, 23, died after jumping from a bridge with friends in Canada.
“YOLO!”
Can I plead the 5th on that?
When I was in high school, we used to routinely jump at a quarry with a 45-50ft drop. We usually wore sneakers because feet hitting the water would sting a bit.
That extra 15-20 feet may not sound like much, but it makes a big difference. In the dark and 2 a.m. is a bad plan, too.
“This should be treated like a suicide.”
Death by “misadventure.” In other words, Darwin Award.
A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man.
Presactly a perfectly cromulent word.
1950s USN abandon ship drill was to clamp one hand over your nose to prevent water slamming up your nostrils, the other to cover your crotch to prevent your experience.
We hand to jump from 20 or 30 feet. I felt like I had been falling forever and looked down to see where I was - just in time to get smacked in the face on impact.
