Amazon Prime increased their annual price.

I primarily use it for streaming TV/movies and order very little.

Now that they have upped the price, I won’t feel so guilty about ordering single items for 7.95 and PRIME shipping. [Although, even at their advertised 2-day shipping, nearly half of my orders always took longer — up to a week.]

Do NOT go with Northland Cable if that’s anywhere near you. I’m on the phone almost daily about outages. Internet and cable has gone out several times today just long enough to call them and poof! it’s back on. Also, only get half the channels we pay for and zero bill credits.

You really can't consume entertainment in this country without supporting leftists

You could order a DVD directly from a conservative site. I found several without much effort: https://patriotdepot.com/conservative-dvds/

That’s why I left them. Plus there incompetent technical support. I kept telling them I saw no increase in their internet speed despite their claims. Their tech support said it was because I was a residential customer. When I returned my interface the people at the office said it was so old model they were surprised I got internet at all.

If Amazon is the seller and they are the lowest priced (vs Walmart), they are losing money. Third party sellers, they might make money on. Zap their margins by shipping several dollar items using the fastest free shipping available. Don’t cut them any slack.

No antenna TV here but that’s what I used at my old place. Used Sling TV for awhile but found You Tube is all I need now, news including Fox is posted within 30 minutes with the commercials cut out. If you have an interest, people are making content for you.

That’s stuff’s not entertainment. Unless you want to laugh at a bunch of scammers fleecing conservatives with ridiculous content.

here is a good update on cord cutting options:

So we put together a brief guide to getting started, from full-sail replacements (think Sling TV) to content aggregators (think Netflix) to — wait for it — the best free options currently available.

If you don’t want to get fleeced, you need to do some work. But if you want real entertainment at no cost and no effort, I suggest you download the free C-SPAN app.

Good for you! I know that not having Fox, CNN, MSNBC or any other lunatic on MY tv screaming in my face has been great for my mental health. You will perhaps experience a little bit of longing to see it, but you WiLL get over it I guarantee it!

I worry as more people do this they are just going to jack up the prices for internet as they lose cableTV money. It’s the same 3-4 companies that provide both.

And coupled with the recent elimination of net neutrality, they might start putting internet on a tier system similar to how cable TV works now where you pay for a package of content.

Also for political arguement’s sake, it’s also interesting how many people view big corporate internet/cable companies as leftist(the content may be but not the provider), but then chose alternatives like free over the air TV or DVDs from a publicly funded library (which is clearly socialism.

When you say your “cabel” are you refering to the TV? Or do you have bundled TV/phone/internet? If the latter, just dump the TV/phone and keep the cable. It will cut your bill by at least half. That is what I did in 2004.

It could be worse. We have crappy Mediacom, voted the most hated company in America a couple of years ago. They just raised their rates. I’m trying to talk my husband into ditching them. Unfortunately all of the replacement options give you some channels you don’t want and not all the channels you do. However, you might look at Sling or Philo.

We understand it is your right to “come out” as a cable cutter only when you are ready.

Congratulations on your decision today to share your new new orientation with your friends here at this moment!

If you have AT&T mobile you get a huge discount on DirecTV Now since they are owned by AT&T. I pay $25 for 65 channels including ESPN, FoxSports, BTN, SEC, HBO and all the other major cable type channels.

DirecTV Now Live a Little

I get an additional 24% off for my company discount for the entire bundle. I've been happy so far since I switched a week ago.

Oh yeah...

Three years ago I relocated out of my home state due to my job, and that was THE time to cut the cord. Windstream was my provider back home. I was on the phone with those wanker bastards for 40 minutes!!! They offer this...then they offer that. They will take long pauses during the call to “check on things” all to wear you down. Well they came up against a hard-headed Irishman/Welshman/German, and I wore them down.

Annual estimated savings is $1300. Eff them and the horse they rode in on.
