The poor man has been married to this woman for 50 years. He supported her academic career at a time when academia was still a male dominated field and the thanks he gets is abuse.

She seems to have grandchildren, per FB. I am pretty sure I would not let my children be alone with her.
And I can’t imagine why her husband didn’t at least leave the room, if not the house, about 3 minutes into her rant.
I got into this the other night with my wife. She was going down a list of times she was groped in high school and college.
I asked what she did about it back then. The response was that in some cases she did nothing because she “put herself” in the situation. In other cases she kneed the guy (which in public, is a good choice. Not so good an idea in private.)
In most cases she told no one and just promised herself to be more alert.
I asked why she didn’t tell someone. She knew me at the time, why didn’t you tell me?
She knew I would beat the shit out of the guy.
My point was that, as a man, you did not trust me to respond correctly when it happened—and yet, as a man I am responsible for not reacting, or taking it seriously. How could I respond to something I never knew about?
So, my new rule is that if I am told by my daughters or wife that something happened, they have to trust that I will respond appropriately. But, if I am not told in a reasonable time, they cannot hold me accountable.
I am so tired of being accused of being insensitive when I have no idea that anything was wrong. It’s a Bigot’s position.
