A Democratic Party political consultant was arrested in Little Rock, Arkansas on a federal child pornography charge, authorities have revealed. A sealed criminal complaint was filed on Friday against Harold “HL” Moody, Jr. and unsealed Tuesday. Moody, the former chairman of the Pulaski County Democratic Party for two years and communications director for the Democratic Party of Arkansas from July 2015 until February 2017, was caught during a federal investigation into child exploitation.

I agree with your (unspoken) premise that they are mostly/overwhelmingly Democrats by inclination, but ambitious people living in Republican areas may join the Party as a path to power, rather than on principle.
In Hastert’s defense, I think the boys he had sex with were post-pubescent High School “jailbait”, rather than small, hairless, pre-pubescent children. The attraction to little kids I think is rarer and much worse - and that is what NAMBLA is focused on.
