The Eye of the Sahara seems to me as very possibly Atlantis.
What did they do for crops in the water-world that this article envisions?
I’ve been reading some books and speculative fiction that a ice free, more temperate Antarctica may have been Atlantis and some catastrophe happened approximately 12,000 years ago.

An earthquake more or less leveled it.
early concrete, suggested it was between 10,000 and 12,000 years old

They must have had some pretty advanced construction techniques - I can barely keep my roof from leaking.
Atlantis discovered Ping.
I think what happened 12000 years ago was the poles shifted. Antarctica could have been at the equator then. We don’t know... it would also help explain how people got to North America so early if they didn’t have to go across the entire Atlantic, but actually hopped from Africa to Antarctica to South America for instance.

the thriving city? thriving underwater all this time? Who knew.
Atlantis was a myth created by the Atlantic civilization (the megalith builders) to protect their trade routes by misdirecting seekers into the open ocean from which few returned.
“Atlantis” was right if front of the explorers, but they had it on ‘good authority’ from the local peoples (who later became the Phoenicians) that the city was on an Island far out at sea.
