A well rounded human being stays current on social issues and current events. If you are older than 21, shame on you. Your ignorance is staggering. You should probably read a little more if you are going to present yourself so poorly in mixed company.
I’ve met him several times at the Basketball of Fame. Spent several moments “back stage” in his company. He seemed like a genuinely nice man. He was patient and respectful. He made sure I was able to do my job well.
That was not true of several other NBA Hall of Famers.
Larry Bird was so much fun to see. The dude would smoke a cig during halftime.

I happen to be approx. three times 21 years of age, but nevertheless deny your authority to define for everyone what passes for "social issues" or "current events."
Perhaps you would care to discuss with me the biggest personalities in the world of Jai Alai, or grandmaster-level chess in Kasachstan? How about discussing the political situation in Baden-Württemberg (my home for the past four decades)?

P.S.: Of course I know what basketball is! (I think that I vaguely recall even actually watching about 5 minutes of a game on an airport t.v. some 20 years ago.) My tongue-in-cheek, self-ironic, non-offensive remarks earlier in this thread would provoke such a self-important reaction as yours only from someone totally lacking in a sense of humor.
