Japan couldn’t the stuff home with them.

Were you of those in the '70s and '80s who insisted that US trade policy with China should be delinked from their human rights record? That if we extended MFN to them and supported their membership in the WTO, that Red China would join the family of nations and become freedom loving capitalists and democrats?
Well, we gave Red China everything they wanted and more and they are more totalitarian than ever. Have you heard about their crackdown on all religious minorities, about the million or more Uyghurs in detention camps? About their new social score system of merits and demerits that will determine what privileges the Chinese citizens will have, or not have.
All the excuse makers for China and those who'd sell their children to China to make a few bucks have put the US and the world in danger from the biggest and richest communist, totalitarian nation in history.
But, who cares as long as some Americans are still making money selling us out to Red China.
Charge China a 10 trillion dollar Buying Tax for every company they buy in the United States. In Cash before the Sale. Bye Bye national debt.
It is, because that’s what will determine who owns what. The relative politics of the country only matter in so far as they effect the country’s ability to grow and utilize capital. If China follows the patterns of previous “taking over America” countries (ie, they don’t) doesn’t really matter if they’re commies or capitalists or Zoroastrians, they didn’t take over.
You forgot one important detail. While everything in the world is made in China, when you flip China over, it says “Made by Chuck Norris”.
We are becoming chinese bitches because we buy stuff from them and they steal intellectual property from this country with no repercussions from us. We have committed financial suicide.

Is that what you said about the USSR during the Cold War when the US and most all free nations did everything they could to contain and weaken it? China is, and has been since WWII, more dangerous to freedom in the world than the USSR ever was. Yet this nation and many others since Carter have done one thing after another to enrich and empower the still Red China.
There have been several articles recently about China's moves around the world, including nations it has lured into debt slavery, whereby they take control of the debtor's critical strategic assets. More and more people are beginning to acknowledge the dangers.
Red China is more dangerous than USSR ever was because of the stupidity of nations who sold out national security interests for commercial interests, thereby enriching and empowering China as the USSR never was.
We should never have gone beyond diplomatic relations with China until they made real moves away from communism and toward democracy and individual rights for their citizens.

Japan wasn’t controlled by the Comunist Party and their companies weren’t mostly govt controlled. Japan is a democracy and a country of laws. Two different animals.
