So if you had a pregnant dog and ripped the puppies out of the womb and killed them it would be a crime, but if you did the same to a human being ripping it out of the mother’s womb just before birth and killed it in New York you would be celebrated.

I’d punch anyone i saw beating an animal but that doesn’t mean it should be a federal offense.

The elevation of animals to human like status is very creepy .
And that includes conservatives who treat a dog like a kid.

Animals should never be abused but they shouldn’t be treated like humans either.

> I want to shoot them dead,...

Notice: You have been “Red Flagged”. Please get to bed early so you’re prepared for the early morning raid by a joint police FIB task force. Would you prefer we notify CNN or NBC?

Yes. It’s to stop hunting and then on to a felony for eating meat. Anybody could see this coming. Also getting rid of honey eating, egg eating...a total vegan lifestyle.

...would criminalize “crushing, burning, drowning, suffocating and impaling animals.”

I hope the law is more specific than ”animal”. Otherwise killing ants by stepping on them might become illegal.

Amen. Also the unintentional consequences that will as well as could be attached to this legislation in the future would be astronomical.

The legislation should be squashed.

When I was a kid, our dog had a YUGE litter of puppies - like 15 of the little buggers. She was not a large dog. The puppies were killing her. So my dad took 1/2 of them (the females) and killed them. Saved the mama’s life - she could sustain a smaller litter. Assume this would be a felony under this law.

The federal government has no business making laws to protect animals. People who hurt and torture them are scum who should be shunned (other than to kick the crap out of them), but it shouldn’t be a federal felony. I can see another “me too” movement being born, as the law will be weaponized against conservatives and Christians (who are the least likely to be cruel to animals).

Tell that to the drug warriors.

Anyone, anyhow, anywhere who causes an animal unnecessary pain needs to be removed from the gene pool and the oxygen breathing community, STAT; that is just as much a ‘general welfare’ case as drugs, guns, or any other thing the government is not specifically authorized to deal with in the constitution.

This has no business at the federal level.

Thank you.

I think it’s in invisible ink - right next to the area where it says killing a baby even as it is being born is fine and dandy....
