Florida is drowning. Condos are still being built. Can't humans see the writing on the wall?

And now something completely different.....

I took my scouts to some crystal springs in Florida to snorkel in the very clear water. We went into the near by river to swim. There was a very big tree with a large limb out over the water from which to jump into the river.

I was just leisurely swimming when from the tree was the cry “manatee, manatee” Everybody hurried to the perch to look.

Then the truth.... “aww, It’s not a manatee, it’s just Mr bert”

OMG....the author flew into Miami and could see it from the air, the exact places where the wealthy have their second homes and will lose them to GW. I’ve always wondered why “experts” point to Miami as being lost in the rising ocean yet don’t say the same for the entirety of the Keys. Is it because the experts don’t consider homeowners in the Keys, wealthy? Hmmmmm.

A wise person once said, “If Global Warming & Rising Oceans were really happening, then banks would stop lending loans for affected home and commercial sites”.

If the sea is rising or if Florida is sinking, humans will do what humans do best, adapt.

I have confidence that my children's generation will come up with a solution to climate change that doesn't require transferring hundreds of billions of dollars to African despots.

Yet another article written by a LIB lunatic. Who cares? It is all distortion, obfuscation and omission. Trying to decipher the screw-up logic of a LIB lunatic isn’t worth the time. CooCoo! CooCoo!

The Brits love ripping the USA because they know that England is dying a slow agonizing death. At least America may survive if we want the Republic to continue. The English checked out completely when the Muzzies came to town.

I was watching a TV last night on the Science channel. It was about a town on the south coast of Greece that was now covered by the Med. It was just offshore in a bay. It was only underwater by 20-30 feet. They mapped it all out and showed where all the buildings used to stand. There were actual clay pots that dated from around 1600BC.

Sometime between 1600 BC and 1000 BC a series of three earthquakes resulted in the land slowly sinking over about 600 years and people moved away. There was not one major catastrophe like Pompeii. They also stated that the SEA LEVEL rose over this same period because of the ending of the last ice age.

The show was called finding Atlantis or something silly.

She’s obviously a recent FL transplant. Rambling on because she knows she has no point or argument to make. Just the usual eco-nut sloganeering pabulum. ........................ Yup! next she’ll be complaining about Manatee farts.

"Coastal construction and the cost of it should include engineering to protect those communities from know inevitable impacts."

You're simply demanding even more government regulations. That's above those government regulations that already don't work. Why is it for you to decide what is a "know inevitable impact", and what is not known.

The best approach, in my opinion, is to let anyone build where ever they want. Just don't make government regulations to force me or anyone else to pay for it.

For over a millennium the Dutch have been building increased farmland below sea level by building dikes, almost all with out government regulations. After a dike is built, it takes over a century before the land becomes productive due to the salt in the soil. They did this, not for themselves, or even their children or grandchildren, but maybe for their great grandchildren. With government regulations, nothing, at all, could have been done. Arm chair regulations by over paid bureaucrats is never an optimum solution for any problem.

I was there, Crystal River, last month. Friends own one of these expensive homes the author is writing about, only 100 yds from the springs where the manatees gather. We would swim from their stairs over to the manatees.

If you haven’t had a chance to do this I would suggest it highly. On my top 20 list of all time cool things I’ve experienced.
