This morning, I was wondering what possible constitutional amendment would prevent national socialism.
Perhaps he/she is dedicated.
Actually it is 11 years and some change now.
Uncalled for!
If he can use a rifle, I don't care where he uses his gun.
The founding documents presupposed a unity among the people that was based on a reasonable consensus of commonly held values. That consensus no longer exists.
We’re so busy invading other nations (with more on the way, despite promises otherwise) that we won’t be able to save ours.
If the only way you could get money to pay your credit card bill was to borrow it, at interest, from the credit card company - you would understand the fix we are in.
Thanks. I didn’t mean any offense.. I just thought the topic was worthy of discussion.
I do believe the left is orchestrating a takeover structured after the cloward piven strategy. What I believe would follow is what Larry Grathwohl warned of decades again involving weather underground. The possibilities are becoming more and more possible with the fast track of socialism.
We will have lost a war with China. China will have annexed Alaska, Hawaii and California as colonies under 999 year leases at $1 per year.
It is not that they don’t care what the Constitution says, only that what is so clearly stated has to be redefined in terms that though it SOUNDS much like the original language, is subtly changed or even given almost the opposite intent.
Some Constitutional “scholars” only study the Constitution looking for loopholes. And from time to time, they find them.
Should the next election go wrong (e.g. Democrat-Socialist) then the worst will have come to pass.
We true Americans (e.g. veterans and other patriots) will then know why the Second Amendment was written and included in the Bill of Rights. Do we need to hide our guns beforehand? I cant say. Use them? Yes we will.
They don’t care what it says. They go through hoops trying to make it say what they want it to because some other pesky people keep forcing them to, that’s is all. If they had the ability to burn it and move on, they would in a heartbeat. To them it’s merely an obstacle that prevents them from imposing their benevolent and wise boot on all our necks.
You just showed up three days ago but you figure your should be leading the parade?

Short answer: No
At this point the Constitution is whatever John Roberts rolls out of bed and decides is a tax today.
It’s not about the founding documents as much as the principles they were based on. If a society agrees on principles, other things can be dealt with even when there is disagreement on specific documents or laws or policies.
When there is no agreement on underlying principles, there can be no sustainable government. Half of the country now disagrees with the principles of the founding documents. Neither party cares about principles, only on gaining power in DC. So the government is over. It’s a matter of how long it takes to go away and what replaces it.
I don’t expect much change over the next 5-10 years. We will see the build up of a lot more tension as we fight (in courts and elections) over (often meaningless) details while we avoid any serious discussion of principles. We’re probably 2-3 decades from realizing that our differences on principles is too great to fix with court rulings.
When the people start to see the irreconcilable differences on principles (not laws or policy) I hope to see a peaceful reorganization of the states into different sovereignties which agree on principles. Parties and many states will fight it. But the people will have had enough and will elect state representatives to take back states’ right which can only be done by separating from parties and other states which want to control everything from their position of power in DC.
Actually, I posted this in an attempt to learn. I have always frequented this site to gain insight and knowledge. In my estimation, 99% of the members here appear to be very knowledgeable on this topic. Hence, the opportunity to learn that which I failed to learn as a public school student.
As for the other 1%, I’ll let you decide. Thanks.
The current tagectory of the nation is toward increasing levels of Socialism
Socialsist have contorl of the higher educational; institutions so I dont see that changing.
I dont see One World Government ever happening because there will always be too many individuals who want to rule the world for one man to ever have complete control.

That’s the best way to learn.

I agree that the socialist elitist’s control the academia and that, I fear will be one of the greatest downfalls to this country. I volunteered at various GOP events and voiced concern then that the R party was not interested in youth outreach. The future rests in the youth of today. They are being indoctrinated sadly by policies and ideologies which are destroying this country. In that respect, how can the country survive?
I recall a quote some time ago, I think it was attributed to stalin, paraphrasing it, “if they were able to educate our youth, America would collapse within.”
