The Netflix version will rewrite the subtitles to make everyone gay.

Will it feature cheesy overdubbing like the king-fu movies of the 70s?

“According to a plot summary from Netflix, the movie is set in the distant future and involves the sun expanding into a red giant that threatens to destroy earth. A team of heroes builds “ten thousand stellar engines” to propel earth out of the solar system in the hope of finding a new home in space, kick-starting a 2,500-year-long journey in which humanity fights for the survival of their “wandering earth.”

The “science” premise is as unscientific as I have ever seen in science fiction. I am not saying I have not seen similar or worse science in science fiction novels/stories, just that this one ranks up there, at the top of the “bad” science premises.

You need to get out more.

There are plenty of excellent dubbed Chinese and Korean Films, and given a choice between straight entertainment and some Hollywood dreck promoting one genuinely vile sexual practice or another, or cartoon "right-wing" villains (or both), about half the viewing audience would prefer the former.
