Exhibit A:
My VA Dr just gave me with type 2 diabetes diagnosis at 70 yrs old. The extremely low carb, high protien diet (essentially all the meat fit to eat) is great. Eat a few greens, a lot of meat and drop the sugar numbers. Kind of a reverse vegan diet. I have no complaints at this time, the butcher at my local farmers market loves it.

That’s what Gandhi says:

Apparently he recommends the Ferrari 308, as well.
And apparently, an Uzi or a Mac.
Jump in the lake with your leftist plural pronouns. Its you. A proven solid fool. And you never get to pretend to contribute again. No forgiveness, ever.
Its Sunday, but Fridays coming!
You must NOT have any vegan relatives... you are one lucky person.
I used to lift weights, machines, etc. 6 days a week.
When I would hit the “health food” stores for the occasional supplement for my morning protein drink (like wheat germ) you’d see the vegetarians in there.
None of them looked healthy at all. When I go to Sprout’s (for veggies) you’ll see some old hippies there - some of them buying every “alternate” product they have. They’re regularly spending $65-$150 for stuff they could get a the grocery store for $25-$75. I’m always amazed at the register total.
I like to go in when their bell peppers are on sale - slice them up and freeze them. I get 5 for 98 cents each (sometimes less) and then I grab a Serrano pepper (one might be 4 cents - I once got about four and it was 17 cents, lol). With the low tax on food I’m outta there for about $5.50 a lot of times.
That Gandi sure has changed!!
Purely coincidental. Type 1 juvenile diabetes has not a thing to do with what you eat and, though rare, you can get it as an adult.
Two words never spoken by a vegan: Delicious meal.
Diet has a lot to do with mental health as well. Nutritionists and doctors are only now discovering that fact.
I find the less processed and artificial foods, the better. And lots of meat, eggs, and fish. If you do your grocery shopping on the perimeter of the supermarket and avoid the aisles completely, where all the processed junk is, you will be very well nourished.
Vegan — old injun word for “lousy hunter”.

I have one female, leftist, vegan cousin, 10yrs my senior. I’m 69 and she’s almost 80. We just ignore each other. It’s safer (for her) that way. I used to bring her to tears, in minutes, in years past, since she could debate me without hyperventilating. Her husband’s a staunch Conservative, but somehow they coexist.
Vegetables are what food eats.
Cows a ruminants. They ferment their feed in four stomachs.
People are omnivores. We have incisors, canines and molars for a reason but, only one stomach. People are not designed to be vegetarians.
Democrats do tend to regurgitate ideas for easier digestion.
For years I ate one meal a day. I don’t need a lot of red meat at all because I have a cholesterol issue. I do eat a bit of chicken and I do eat eggs and shake cheese of good quality.
My father died of a massive heart attack at the young age of 63. I have two older sisters who are both insulin diabetics, my mother ate an egg in the morning on toast for her ,entire life probably and died at a ripe old age of 87 but she also did not have a mind left because dementia stole it.
I would rather be 30 years old but I’m not, so at this point in my life I’m shooting for Quality rather than quantity. So it’s everything in moderation including meat however, I do like cooked vegetables and I think I crap better because I eat a lot of cooked vegetables.
I like Black beans and oatmeal with a little salt and pepper and it makes my stomach very happy. I eat cooked cabbage quite a bit, beans somewhat, green beans anytime I want, and I eat spinach. I don’t mind paying a little extra for organic.
Everyday I drink a quart or two of water and every day I take a 32 oz exercise mug and I fill it with water and throw a shot of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar with the mother in there and a little Stevia to sweeten it up. I shake it real good and I sip on that. The reason I take apple cider vinegar, is that some folks say a lot of things about apple cider vinegar... But the reason I take it is because it helps create a suitable environment in the gut for the Flora and other bacteria to thrive which makes me very regular in the category of regularness, and I just feel pretty darn good because of it. Better than when I was just eating well but with moderation.
I’m not going to trash a vegan’s, I Don’t Preach vaganism but I see a benefit in maintaining kind of a plant based attitude especially about processed foods, and I always cook from scratch (which is from my years as a military cook)training, and I stay away from carbs recognizing of course that we do need a few carbs, so I’ll take in a few carbs but I don’t go carb overboard at all.
Buy exercise everyday and go to the gym three or four times a week. And I think my quality of life is pretty good but like everybody else I do have some medical issues at this stage and I can only hope to mitigate it do healthy eating and a good amount of training without straining. And I don’t look a day over 72, even though I’m into my 65th lap around the Sun.
