Roy Moore said he is "seriously considering" a 2020 rematch against the current incumbent Alabama senator. The fiery and controversial candidate, who became the first Republican to lose a U.S. Senate race in Alabama in 21 years for his defeat by now-Sen. Doug Jones, a Democrat, says that he is open to the idea of running for the GOP's nomination again. “I’m seriously considering it. I think that was stolen,” Moore said of the race during a Friday interview.

The man was twice removed from office. I didn’t care for his grandstanding waving the Bible in everyone’s face. That’s not why I vote for candidates.
I’ve seen enough Roy Moore over the last 30 years. It didn’t take the left media to grow tired of his act. Some people outside of Alabama act like they know more about Roy Moore than I do. They’re absolutely wrong.
I know people that voted for him last time. They would not do it again. They know he would have a way of screwing it up and getting another democrat elected.

Freepers who think he was victimized by anyone in 2017 should go back and do some research on his history in Alabama Republican politics. He’s been burning bridges with the GOP for years ... and then has the nerve to complain when they don’t stand up for him.
IF that is the case there would have been no need for the GOP establishment to openly campaign against the party nominee. In favor of a liberal Democrat, of course.
We simply can not allow the open borders agenda establishment veto power over primary winners. It’s that simple.

The numbers don’t lie. Alabamans do not like Roy Moore.
Allowing the GOP establishment veto power over primary winners is a suicide pact for conservatives. This isn’t about Moore. It’s about an out of control and unaccountable uniparty dictating to the voters who they can elect. As bad a candidate as Moore was he would have won without Democrat dirty tricks and GOP establishment intervention.

I knew Roy Moore was a disaster from the onset and said as much during the primaries. But once he became the party nominee, I kept my mouth shut. At that point we needed him to win because the President needed his vote. Despite his many failures, Moore would've been a solidly conservative Senator.
However, once he lost, I let loose with the "I told you so!" sentiments so hopefully we never repeat this idiocy again.
The one shining star of the Moore debacle was that it ended the political career of Al Franken who, believing Moore would win, took one for the team so as not to be a distraction. It also severely damaged the political ambitions of Kirsten Gillibrand for forcing Franken to fall on his sword.
And in the end, all for nothing.

The lack of good people who want to run for office, why put up with the crap that comes with it, if you’re successful in the private sector?
Notice the difference between the way Kavanaugh and Moore addressed the accusations against them.
He's the one who spends most of his time campaigning for the support of people who were already going to vote for him anyway.

1. The GOP establishment knew he wouldn't be a reliable supporter of the GOP agenda. His primary opponent Luther Strange voted for legislation that Trump signed -- 100% of the time.
2. A renegade like this can destroy the GOP brand far beyond Alabama.
This is not an anti-Moore rant, mind you. I'm probably one of the few people here on FR who would have voted for him in the general election even if every accusation against him turned out to be true.
But I also recognize a loser when I see one.
This reflects my approach in 2017 perfectly.
So was Trump. I’ll take a clown show over the Marquess of Queensberry people conservatives keeping thinking should be in office.
