A woman died from her injuries after her own two dogs mauled her outside an animal hospital in Irving Saturday morning, police say.
Police shot and killed the dogs when they arrived because the pets would not allow authorities to come close to the owner, police say.

Dogs and their owners- You don’t have to love them.
The dogs were in quarantine at the vet because they’d attacked someone else. Not the usual ‘pit bulls were so sweet - until they ate the neighbor’ story.
I’d prefer they not hurt anyone but if they do, I would prefer it be the owners instead of innocent people.
Come to think of it my cat’s claws are getting sharp, time for a trim.

Wait...wait...someone “claimed” the dogs are/were pit bulls, so......no facts required. No need to know what actually happened.
Pit bulls or not, this story reeks of “details and facts please”. I will be accused of defending Cujo because I want genuine facts. My response to that is, get some critical reasoning skills. Putting the words “pit bulls” into a 2 paragraph story does not eliminate the need for facts. Oh, wait, this is Free Republic, they do eliminate the need for facts. Works for Democrats, let’s do the same.
Keep a towel handy. When they jump for your throat, catch them with the towel. But it isn’t the claws you need to worry about - when they really go after you, they use the fangs.

One of the things I kind of like about cats is that they are identical in structure and behavior to felines 70 times larger than them, and if they were that big, you would be dinner.
But instead of dinner, we are slaves.
I think last year that was a guy who called 911 because his cat trapped him and his wife or daughter in the bedroom.
Hard to imagine having to call 911 for a cat.
A few punches won’t stop a pit bull but I would imagine it would damage a cat.
Not that my little buddy would ever attack me :)

We’re one of those couples with no kids and a cat that gets treated better than all of the 3rd world and most of the new world :)
He’s definitely my little buddy but the wife goes WAY past me in that department.
She would rescue the cat before me in a fire :)

True BUT notice no matter how big or small the cat is, if it gets the chance to sit on your chest and look down at you-straight in the eye- they think they are the size of their ‘jungle counterparts’ and I swear, one can see it in their eyes.

Of course, the cat could crap in the Dean’s shoes, sit on his face as he sleeps, and shred his ties.
There might be value in that!
They look at you with such insolence sometimes, you know exactly what would happen if they weighed 800 lbs instead of 8 lbs!
I am confident that I’d win against the cat if it didn’t catch me asleep, but I am also aware that it can cause me damage if it is unhappy with me.
