Yeah but if hes not uber, how does he know to go where this girl is then?
I went to the site AND I just LOVE this product I bought one!!! This is great claws the perp AND grabs his DNA how perfect looks like if you get this right across their face you could definitely make a run for it!! I work nights and it is not possible to carry a gun in your hand while walking the parking lot!!! THANK YOU great product!!!
Many cultural factors to blame too, but you are generally correct.
College girl going home at 2am, my guess is she called Uber because she was too drunk to get home any other way.
Young college girls from middle america aint as street savy as maybe they should be.
Assine responce to a sad situation with a serious message to anyone that uses UBER.
Her fault ??
That is about the only safe way to get home unless you are walking in a large group or in a car with a designated driver.
There were a bunch of people standing around when she got into the car. She probably had done this before and got into a routine and let her guard down.
Too much TV for U
If I were to write a crime novel about a killer who easily picked up girls and killed them in his taxi I would call it UBER.
Never have so many gullible people placed themselves into deaths waiting hands.
I knew Uber was a bad idea from the get go.
There is no security with Uber.
You are getting in a car with a stranger.
This girl was also most likely intoxicated.
plenty of “simple mistake”s.
out so late.
drinking to where it caused her confusion or impared her abilities.
didnt keep tabs on and stay with friends or whomever she came with.
did she call friends to come back and get her?
could she have called anyone else she knew, even if having to wake them?
Seems she made many “simple mistakes” in her choices that evening alone.
very sad, but this was very avoidable.
I use UBER all the time when I travel on flights across the US (too much trouble/illegal to carry). Very convenient and reliable.
There’s a panic button in the UBER app if you feel unsafe at any point. Uber is tracking the car and calls the police if you push it. And your cell phone can be tracked.
I always make sure I get in the right car. I check the make, model and license plate and ask the driver for their name (all are sent to you when you book the trip). Usually they ask for me by name first.
I’ve never looked for an UBER sticker. What use is that?
Hundreds of trips, never had a problem. Given the number of UBER rides in the country, I’d be shocked if the odds of having an Uber problem are greater than driving your own car.
The one that mattered was misidentifying her ride then getting in.
I can tell you that several times coming out of a grocery I have tried to get into a vehicle that looked very similar to mine parked close to mine, then I’m wondering why my key doesn’t fit.
I wonder how close to death I came doing that. Probably not close, but one never knows in this world.
I knew there was a reason I didn’t respond to this post.
It was a trap!
“...freaking AWFUL story...”
Our daughter is a college junior the same age as this girl so it really hits close to home for us.
Absolutely tragic.
It also helps to look at the arrival date of the one you are about to correspond with.
We don't really know why she got into that car. A couple of different senarios . Her Uber was in the area and she saw it on the phone and just assumed he was legit. It is hard to tell on the video, but she may have even been talking to the real driver at some point. Another possibility is one of her friends in the bar ordered the Uber ride for her and gave her the information verbally. I suspect she probably asked the driver his name and he said yes I am so and so.. She just jumped into the back seat like she new the driver.
new = knew
His lawyer will say he thought she was going to rob him.
But LYFT beat UBER to IPO on Friday. They are seen as great investments.
