10:35 AM PT -- Well, prosecutors did exactly what we reported early Tuesday morning. Since Lori did not cop a plea, the U.S. Attorney went to a Federal Grand Jury to get an indictment, adding charges of money laundering. This now increases the amount of time Lori and her husband would get as a minimum recommended sentence.

Specifically, the U.S. Attorney says, Lori, her husband and 14 others will now be charged with the additional crime of "conspiring to launder the bribes and other payment in furtherance of the fraud by funneling them through [Rick] Singer's purported charity and his for-profit corporation."

The money laundering charge alone carries a maximum 20 years in prison.

Which makes me think that Huffman is going to do time as well. She plead because she’s guilty and did not want to get hit with any more charges and do more time.

Who is her lawyer? Unless she really has a viable defense (which hasn’t been reported), she should have taken the deal.

They were going for a minimum of two years with Loughlin and her husband. Maybe the criminals are in denial.

Now they can’t get the two years.

I guess they go to trial.

Considering the amount of monies involved in this scam, I simply cannot believe that Singer was the ONLY crooked lawyer doing this.

Too much money + too much greed + too many schools + too many lawyers = RICO!

i dont believe it either. The people taking those bribes would be willing to expand their horizon.

Innocent people used the guy, too. Didn’t break laws.

Rumor going around that a certain popular international athlete’s kid who could have cared less about college and I think has already dropped out....much the same as Lori’s kid... used this guys service but didn’t break laws.. They are still worried goes the rumor.

I’m sure they all donated huge money to Obama, so time to call in the chits like Juicy was able to do. There may be a straight and melatonin deficiency hitch to that angle, though.

Or maybe a change of venue to Chicago should fix things right up.

They haven't even started on the tax evasion charges yet.

More on update:

“This means if Lori and her husband now want to plea bargain their cases, instead of a minimum range of 2 to 2 and a half years in prison ... prosecutors would recommend to the judge a MINIMUM RANGE OF 4 YEARS AND 9 MONTHS UP TO 5 YEARS AND 11 MONTHS.

There’s also a very technical rub. Theoretically by charging CONSPIRACY to money launder, the minimum sentence could go even higher — way higher.

Short story ... prosecutors are out for blood. “

She was out in front of the court house signing autographs the other day... She does not grasp the depth of trouble she is in. I think she will soon!

Something about this sounds familiar...

Maybe they're gambling on getting at least one jury member who's a fan of the show.
