15 states have these laws on the books, already. Colorado just signed theirs into law. Seattle has been doing it for a while.

Presuming that Sen. Graham is writing this bill in the name of safety, the only mention of safety in the Constitution is Article I, Section 9, Clause 2, that clause not applicable to Graham's bill imo.
"Article I, Section 9, Clause 2: The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it [emphasis added]."

In fact, the congressional record shows, using murder as an example, that constitutional lawmaker Rep. John Bingham had clarified that, up to the time that the 14th Amendment (14A) was ratified, the states had never expressly constitutional delegated to the feds the specific power to make penal laws dealing with peacetime murder issues.

Bingham was clarifying that 14A gave the feds new powers to make civil penal code, such power limited to strengthening constitutionally enumerated rights which Graham's bill does not do imo.

The Supreme Court had put it this way about Congress exercising its 14A power to strengthen constitutionally enumerated rights.

“3. The right of suffrage was not necessarily one of the privileges or immunities of citizenship before the adoption of the Fourteenth Amendment, and that amendment does not add to these privileges and immunities. It simply furnishes additional guaranty for the protection of such as the citizen already had [emphasis added].” —Minor v. Happersett, 1874.

Since post-17th Amendment ratification Sen. Graham has no clear constitutional authority to make his bill imo, while his heart is arguably in the right place, he is nonetheless unthinkingly helping to unconstitutional expand the already unconstitutionally big federal government by introducing it imo.

So whichever post-FDR era law school that Graham got indoctrinated at, it evidently doesn't teach the fed's constitutionally express, limited powers as the Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood.

It is disturbing that federal civil gun control laws seem to have started appearing in the books during the time of Democrat FDR, FDR and Democratic Congress at that time infamous for making laws that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

Franklin Roosevelt: The Father of Gun Control

Corrections, insights welcome.

Remember in November 2020!

MAGA!

What the hell is wrong with Lindsey Graham? Is he really so tone deaf to his constituents?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No, he’s so arrogant because they have re-elected him after his previous betrayals with amnesty, he thinks he can do whatever he wants and they’ll still vote for him.
He’s the Republican “glass of water”.
Most of the latest whack job shooters were mentally unstable and due to mental health laws their doctors are not usually talking with law enforcement and vice-versa. How do you punish someone who might commit a crime?
If a person is deemed mentally unstable then one should trust the government would not abuse this power and safeguards would be in place to prevent them to simply declare anyone who opposes the governments policies unstable and send them to the gulag like the Soviets. However look at the safeguards in the FISA courts that have been spat on by DOJ/FBI bureaucrats especially lately. The reaction of the people viewing this as very dangerous speaks volumes to the US governments behavior or lies and deceit. Their own citizens do not trust they will follow the law and with good reason, look at the 2016 presidential election. Tread carefully Linda G!
First step will be to subpoena the campaign donation records from Trump’s campaign(s).... anyone who supported/supports Trump is immediately deemed “dangerous”.
Also anyone who served in uniform for any amount of time. Those who retired from the military are screwed - I know a couple of Sheriff’s deputies who’d love to SWAT me.
Lindsey got a $175,000 campaign contribution from the anti-gunner Nazi Bloomberg.
Thus, the reason for Lindsey’s willingness to push illegal legislation to confiscate guns. Lindsey has oatmeal mush for a brain and has just lost his re-election bid. It’s all over South Carolina talk radio. Bye-bye, mush for brains.
“South Carolina has given us this moron, Tim Scott, Mark Sanford. There has to be some better folks in that state. Has to be.”
How about you tell us what state you’re from. Then we can count and judge the number of morons who infest your sh*thole.
“We’ve come to seize your guns because we have determined that you might be a danger to us when we try to seize your guns.”
Cute.
“We’ve come to seize your guns but we can’t because there’s only 12 of us and 100 of you. Guess we’ll go crawl back in our holes before we’re shot full of holes.”
Georgia....and unlike you, I can freely admit we do have our fair share. I can be honest about that. Hell, we almost had Stacy Abrams, if you can imagine that. And the Dem’s have turned a Red Congressional district, Blue, in a very gun friendly state with a Gun Control Activist. We have Issacson, who’s a joke, and we had Chambliss, who was more of a joke.
Anything else you’d like to know, Big Fella?
“One day the Commie radical Left will turn this against good, decent, harmless people.”
Good and decent? Mostly likely. Harmless...not so much.
Not all of us anyway.
I guess that takes in just about any one who believes
in the right to keep and bare arms.
What we need to do is prosecute all of the anti gun
politicians as traitors.
Let's preemptively take away the House and Congressional Vote from those deemed dangerous to the Bill of Rights.
President Trump, are you listening?
