They might have, they might not have. The point is, the Nazi's had 1/2 of the amulet and got the location wrong. It would have taken them far longer and quite possibly never found the location. Fact is, Indy found it. Although, the calculations were wrong for the height of the staff Indy used anyway...
If the explanation for things that make no sense at all even within the story world itself is “it’s not real”, that’s pretty much the definition of a poorly written story. Suspension of disbelief is fundamental to audience enjoyment of any form of fictional creative work.

The trope subversion in this case was part of what made the film such a standout production. He doesn’t have to be relevant to how the larger story unfolds; he just has to be at the locations where the story is told. The story itself is compelling enough on its own without needing the protagonist to affect it; and that the protagonist can’t affect it, for all his efforts, builds towards the sense of divine power and inevitability that is personified (objectified) by the Ark itself. So rather than a conflict or a reason not to suspend disbelief, this use of the protagonist as basically a roving camera to the story locations works quite coherently with the overall theme of the movie.
Contrast to introducing hyperdrive weapons to SW. All of a sudden, everything else that has happened in the entire series is subject to the question of why hyperdrive weapons aren’t being utilized, and why their existence hasn’t shaped the battlefield.
Amy was wrong also. If Jones hadn’t blown up the plane, the ark would have gone to Germany, not, to an island in the Aegean Sea.
Hitler might have died had Jones not stolen the ark.
The Sub ride to the island was AFTER the fact of Jones intervention.

Exactly. This is what I've taken to calling "the law of magical integrity." The same point goes for science fiction. It all boils down to internal consistency and characters acting rationally in terms of the magical/sci fi elements, which are known and reasonably predictable in the fictional world.
Exactly! The most infamous episode, The Rains of Castemere contained The Red Wedding; and, I believe everyone who died there, horribly, were "white" people.
Missandei was murdered because Cersei is a vindictive b***h. Skin color was not even thought of when Cersei decided to do this.
Also, Missandei, I think, was a popular character. She was portrayed as a sweet girl who was dedicated to her Queen. I was quite sad to see Missandei go -- and her skin color had nothing to do with it. She was a very likable character.
I would enjoy WD more if they killed off all the gay characters.

Good points; at this point they’re just throwing sh!t on the wall and seeing if it sticks. I do believe it was to correct that earlier oversight, though; all the problems in the galaxy are caused by old white men with that correction, and most of the otherized creatures - and ALL of the otherized humans - are arrayed against them (and win).

What a girl needs at this point is a pretty good question. Arya just got complicated. The revenge monkey was marching into the Red Keep to kill Cersei; Sandor broke through at the last moment, made her realize that Cersei was doomed whether Arya killed her or not, and basically told Arya to choose life. Then she stumbled around the wreck of King's Landing long enough to break out of her silo, recognize that the suffering of so many innocents was fully the equal of her own, and discover compassion. Arya, compassion. Does not compute. A new character has been born.
She may end up with Gendry after all.
Though it won’t happen, I want Arya on the Iron Throne, with Nymeria at her side.
