As we get older in life, we discover something very important about every endeavor...work, politics, organizations, school, friendships, athletics, hobbies, you name it. Those who started young, or "a long time ago" always have a position of seniority in the activity. Those who come in later are supposed to "pay their dues".
If someone cuts in the line of life, everyone around harbors resentment against that person, if not outright hatred, even if the person has exceptional talent and/or works extremely hard to excel. The rule of life is: You Don't Cut In Line. And, society generally enforces that rule, especially in the workplace AND politics.
Donald Trump was never really a politician. He was always a businessman and not the best one at that. However, for some reason, he decided to run for President, promised to do some things millions of people have been waiting for and the establishment has refused to do -- because they've been there in politics a long time -- and they're going to do what THEY want to do, not what the people who voted for them want. He started VERY late and shot right to the top. THAT is why they hate him. It is not really the policies, it's the fact that he has NOT been a politician all of his life and who the hell does he think HE is to run for President and, oh God no, win. So many people from all strata of the political spectrum from bottom to top and the propagandists in the media laughed, mocked and told us there was NO way he was going to win (because he hadn't been doing politics for years like many others and in their minds could NOT cut in line).
Well, he proved them wrong. It's not so much his policies, personality, intelligence or anything else they deceitfully claim, it's the fact that he cut in the line of life. As a result, to all who have been "paying their dues", hatred for Trump has no bounds.

And implicit in what you say is that "I'm a victim" attitude that the Left is constantly pushing. "I deserve everlasting access to milk from the government's teet. I was screwed over in life (by somebody, the fat cats, or the 'system'). But I paid my dues."
These people are the dependent State who sustain the "legal plunder" that Bastiat talked about.
I think they hate him because every politician other than him ascends to office with money and favors used to exert pressure to tow the line. They have no such leverage against DJT.

I think MeneMeneTekelUpharsin's reason for virulant Trump hate is entirely valid, but it's compounded by what you point out, his effectiveness and the willingness to do what it takes! It's the old "adding insult to injury" thing! Obvious in the drumbesat of hate towaerd Trump, is a callous disregard for the good of the country.

I laugh at this type of approach. It’s the old, “if you can’t downplay the message, you destroy the messenger and try to take the message down with him.”
Problem is, for the first time in our history, we have a president that is the message. He displays the problems and fixes them for the good of the country rather than for the party doing it. This is why he ruffles feathers on both sides of the aisle. And that’s how you know he’s getting the work done for us, not for anyone else. And it’s damned refreshing.
