Funny thing too, she lived in Atlanta like Laz.
I thought the standing O was a little much. lol
I heard about Piscotty earlier this week.
Might have been on the 18th, which is the day Jack Buck died in 2002 and Darryl Kile won his last game against the Angels before dying in a hotel room in Chicago 17 years ago today.
You mentioned the Lord and she was so mad she took her Baal and went home.
Standing O was completely deserved. He was great from Day 1 and you could tell it from the awe in the Cards announcers’ voices in his first month. Albert either won the equivalent of the Triple Crown for a 10 year stretch or came within a couple of something from doing that. He played the most creative and widely ranging 1B defense I’ve ever seen. He did it all with nary a hint of scandal. And what he did for the Down Syndrome community was a thing of beauty worthy of Babe Ruth. On Buddy Walk days even Kryptonite couldn’t stop him. I hope he hits a couple more HR tomorrow... and the Cards collectively manage to win again in spite of that. The only reason he isn’t the greatest Cardinal of all time is that God had earlier decided to bless the Cards with the greatest NL player of all time. When Albert finally retires someone needs to gift him an harmonica.
