I would have charged him on tetherball statutes...
To get to my kids’ Sunday School rooms I have to walk through a large area where they sing and play games. A couple of weeks ago the game was dodge ball. Some boys were still running around playing at the end. While I was waiting with other parents outside the rooms, a boy hit me smack in the face from about 4 feet away with a rubber ball. Since I was not playing and was looking towards the door I was blindsided. Yes, it stung.
I’m sure he was aiming at someone behind me, but I told my kids if they ever accidentally hit an adult like that they had better apologize instead of just running away.
If you choose to play dodge ball than you have to accept the consequences. If dodge ball is too rough for the kid maybe he should play with barbie dolls or something...
This will be the end of all dodge ball games in schools across the country. Bunch o’ pansies!
We didn’t play dodge ball in the schools I went to as a kid ... we played “slaughter ball”. Man, those little red rubber balls could sting!
What were they using ... basketballs?!
Rediculous BS. Govt bureaucrats obviously have too much time on their hands or too much staff.
My school was really tough, we used bowling balls for Dodgeball.
I nailed my coach one game. My friend was on the other team. I gave him the sign to duck. Wham! Right in the gut. Never saw it coming.

Those balls really do hurt. I remember well. Boys and girls play and boys can throw harder than girls. I would not shed a tear if they did away with that game, frankly.
Geez, when I played dodgeball in high school (we called it “bombardment”), we used leather volleyballs. Everyone tried to end up on the same team as the star pitcher because no one wanted to be on the receiving end of one of his throws.
Agreed, but tell them to stay out of arm's reach plus a lunge; some adults will unthinkingly strike back as a reflex.

Well, if it wasn’t, it’s the only thing in the country in the past 5 years that wasn’t......
It’s possible the hit was done in anger. If the thrower walked up and threw the ball while very close this could have been an assault. I still think the school should handle it but its very possible this boy deserves punishment.
He needs to sell and buy a smaller house with no garage and no HOA fees. “I can’t afford the house I live in” is not a sustainable strategy.
