We moved up to the Colorado mountains recently and saw my first black bear out on our deck, just ten days ago, drinking from our hummingbird feeder. Standing at only 5’6”, I still couldn’t believe how absolutely massive his claws were! I’ll have to figure out how to load a pic to the profile page...

The bear kept its eyes on Dowler as he cut off one of his shirt sleeves and wrapped it around his leg. To be fair, that was a nice gesture on the part of the bear.

I came around a curve on a dirt road in my pickup, and there was a bear on the road.
The bear turned around and went up the hill like he had rockets attached to him.
They are fast.
