A Nebraska teen who was just a kid when her father died from an IED explosion in Afghanistan more than a decade ago found a way to honor him in her high school graduation pictures.
Aurora High School senior Julia Yllescas sent her pictures to a photographer on Saturday to create an "angel picture" of her and her father, Army Capt. Robert Yllescas.
The photos showed Yllescas with a faint shadow version of her father. One showed them sitting down on a bench. In another, Yllescas held a folded American flag while standing next to him in uniform.
Julia Yllescas stands next to a faint image of her father, Robert, who died after an IED attack in
2008 in Afghanistan. She had his image added to her graduation photos to honor his memory.

Yep, I hear ya!
Well done, Julia.
Nice thought. Creepy outcome. Poor execution.
They did not have a better picture of her dad? This looks like something from a freshman photoshop class.
Beautiful pics. God bless you and your family young lady.
What a sweet thing to do.
all I can say is rip ...

Darn blurry screen!
Me too. Even more so because we shouldnt have soldiers - kids dads - in Afghanistan after 18 years. sTop this forever war, and keep other Kidds from having to remember their killed fathers at their graduations!!!!
Out of Afghanistan - Yesterday!!!
The Russians were smart enough to get out. Why arent we?
Sweet girl, your father is in Heaven and he sure is proud of you.
“Honor thy father”
Beautiful pics. God bless you and your family young lady. Now she has proof that her guardian angel will be with her always.
She definitely has a ‘Never Forget’ attitude.
Good for her!!
Reminiscent of the one of the guy in Business suit touching the ‘Vietnam Wall’ and his ‘dead comrades’ touching him back from the Wall....
My ‘cynicism’ works overtime when I think of how the ‘weirdos’ will be trying to transform all sorts of innapropriate pictures onto their picture....
Makes me cry. Sweet photos.
You can bet your life her dad was there watching her.
Go look at the picture of them sitting on the bench together
He was more valuable as her father than anything we did in Afghanistan. We have heavy bombers, etc.
We are sending the best of our men to die, and getting nothing in return.
Bless this girl.
