I give him credit for this, but its about the only useful thing he did.
And he does not see the light even now- I heard one woman (who was getting a FREE HOUSE) say “I’m here to put in my 50 hours” (to get the house you have to work a minimum # of hours- i think it’s 50)

I think that the number of hours of sweat equity to qualify for a Habitat home is 500, not 50. Some of the hours can be met by attending mandatory financial education classes.
The houses are not free but have a modest mortgage. Habitat for Humanity is a good way to give people a hand up instead of a hand out.
