“Suppose I said I worshipped Shiva. So what? What’s wrong with that? Last I checked we had a little thing called religious freedom.”

Yes, the USA does have freedom of religion. You are free to worship Shiva.

There are also those who put colanders on their head and call themselves Pastafarians.

Or you can just skip yoga classes and take ballet barre or Pilates classes instead for strength and flexibility instead.

Thank you Cecily. This is my final conclusion as well.

Religion(s) are theories and philosophies of the anatomy & physiology of the human soul and how it interacts with its environment. All the world’s religions have a part of the greater understanding, but none teach the entire picture.

I am Christian and Jesus is my Saviour. That being said, understanding Buddhism and Hinduism has helped me to be a better Christian.

There is a Hindu parable of the 5 blind men who are led to an elephant for the first time. Each blind man gets a different part and describes an elephant based upon their limited perception. They argue with each other as to who is correct.

If they could see the entire elephant, they would quickly realize that they all are correct. Each additional perspective adds to a greater understanding of the “whole.”

So it is with the human soul.

As a scientist, I include medicine, psychology and religions as one body of knowledge. A miracle is merely science that we currently do not understand. I’m not discounting miracles, just using science to understand them.

Yoga translates as “union.”

Paul explains why it is beneficial to remain single, but also states that it is ok to marry. If they marry, husband and wife become one in the eyes of God.

It is better to find “union” within your own soul, but if you marry, there is a union between the two souls.

Yoga is the process of finding “union” within your soul.

Say what?

First you get down on your knees,
Fiddle with your rosaries,
Bow your head with great respect,
And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!

Do whatever steps you want, if
You have cleared them with the pontiff.
Everybody say his own
Kyrie eleison,
Doin’ the vatican rag.

Get in line in that processional,
Step into that small confessional,
There, the guy who’s got religion’ll
Tell you if your sin’s original.
If it is, try playin’ it safer,
Drink the wine and chew the wafer,
Two, four, six, eight,
Time to transubstantiate!

So get down upon your knees,
Fiddle with your rosaries,
Bow your head with great respect,
And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!

Make a cross on your abdomen,
When in rome do like a roman,
Ave maria,
Gee it’s good to see ya,
Gettin’ ecstatic an’
Sorta dramatic an’
Doin’ the vatican rag!
(”Vatican Rag” by Tom Lehrer)

And maybe call in an exorcists because you got it bad...

“Yoga is a gateway to demon possession.”

Any thoughts or actions that create an obstacle to Love in your soul opens the door to demonic influence.

God’s Love closes that door.

Yesterday I had an Army veteran come to me in severe pain in his entire body. It was especially strong in his back and neck.

It didn’t take long to realize that he had a demon attached to his soul.

While sitting several feet away from him. I reached out and pulled the demon from him. His eyes opened up and his pain went away. I guided him on a path of reading the Bible and personal prayer to heal the wound that allowed the demon to enter. He left a different man.

To those who would criticize, I ask, “Would satan cast out satan?” A house divided will fall. It was not me doing the work, but the Holy Spirit, Jesus and Our Father working through me.

Jesus said in John 14, “The things that I do and even more you too shall do in my name.” If you follow His command, this is very true.

It is actually union of each person’s masculine and feminine aspects within themself.

When this happens, a person can reach higher levels in prayer and meditation.

It is the foundation built on a rock. It is the reason Bowlby and Ainsworth’s attachment and bonding theory in children is so critically important.

Well, here’s my .02....

We (my Dear Wife and I) recently purchased a yoga program from a guy named Paige Falkenberg. You might know him as former 4-time WWE World Champion Diamond Dallas Page. His program, DDP Yoga, is all about stretching, movement, strengthening one’s body, and becoming more flexible and limber. There is NO component of chanting or meditation as far as I can tell.

I am a Christian, and as far as this program is concerned, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Now, as far as ‘regular’ yoga is concerned, I don’t cotton to that.
