Polar bear livers, for some reason, contain far more Vitamin A than a human being can tolerate. It can be fatal. Some seals, walruses, etc. are the same way.

Polar bears eat enormous amounts of sea and walrusl which loads their livers with toxic levels of Vitamin A
Seal and Walrus get the vitamin A from sea algae common at that latitude
