Yes, but perSON ends with a masculine word for young male. Wouldnt the correct formulation be, oysterperpeople?
Kubrick adding in the Peter Sellers roles added to the comedic value. And there were other subtle laughs.
As in the name of the camp for girls that Lolita went to.

I think Kubrick made his version a Sellers film, letting him go overboard with the hammy shtick. Though there are a few moments that are good and not too campy. For me, mostly, it was too obvious and distracting.

Yup, there were some double entendres that got by the censors.
I remember Robert Osborne commenting once on how he did not like the Sellers roles in Lolita. Distracting and unnecessary,
I miss him. He was TCM. They still show good movies there. But its gone downhill some since he died.
I used to watch TCM when I had cable - back when cable wasn’t all reality shows, the Learning Chnnl, History, Bravo, etc were worth watching.
Sellers can be an acquired taste, with a saturation point. I think in the movie at hand his dialogue on the hotel porch was pretty good - “two normal guys”, heh.
“She was fairly tall, what I mean, taller than little, you know what I mean. But, uh, she was really lovely. I wish I had a lovely, pretty tall, lovely little girl like that...”
Interesting article on Sellers and the film:

Still don’t regret my decision and WOW did you miss the whole idea of that post.
No I understood and commend you on your good judgment.
HOwever 12 year olds do babysit.
I think that in certain parts of the country, a 12 year old can babysit and in some, a 12 year old can’t.
Maybe not even different parts of the country but in different families.
But living in NYC, I’d venture to say that rural girls are given more responsibility at an earlier age and are more mature by 12 than most other girls.
Or I could be completely wrong :)
I could have suggested a hotel that night! :) But honest, i was never much of a one night stand kind of guy.
Anyway, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
There are now laws on who can babysit?
By CAN I meant mature enough.
Good Grief :)
There are lots of girls at 12 mature enough to baby sit. At least there were back in the 1950’s and 60’s.
around here, the Y babysitting classes are for those 11 and older.
I get it.
Yeah, well times change. Not always for the better.
I salute you for having the intestinal fortitude to put the best interests of those innocent little girls ahead of your own raging hormones.
Tragically, that dreadful ratchet will find plenty of creepers with whom to destroy her own children.
But, at least your conscience is clear.
How I wish there were more Real Men like you in the world.
Wow what a compliment. Thank you.
I’m no angel but I don’t mess with kids’ lives.
They deserve to keep their innocence.
Adulthood will take it soon enough.
How does it suffer from the writing? Its English prose at its peak (20th century).
The material is pulpy. The writing is Joyce-like.
