Maybe you can tell me what confused you about that statement.
I would be happy to explain.
Nah. I’m good.
You and Whiskers want to have a philosophical discussion while anthromorphizing business to have a conscience.
We can disagree. This is America.
My corporate profits get taxed twice. That’s enough. I don’t need to use the rest for social justice.
You guys (or gals) can write all the checks you want — let your hearts bleed as much as you want.
I will run my business.
Your stockholders gave money to you on the chance that they might make a profit. They also run the risk that there will be no profit. They did this of their own free will and you do not "owe" them anything. Your primary job is to keep the business running and the stockholders can look after themselves.
Not sure how that is so hard to grasp.
Not sure how that is "bleeding heart".
Might be that you have spent a little too much time on theory and not enough time on practical reality.
In theory there is no difference between theory and reality. In reality there is a world of difference between theory and reality.
But I doubt there is anyway I can get through to you so you just keep on running your business "for your shareholders". I will run my business for the business.
Okay Boomer.
Yeah I really dont get it.
Your ignorance is only matched by your simple mindedness.
I get it. I just think its ludicrous. I stopped reading after those 5 words.
