A response to the formal summons from the Senate, notifying the Executive Office of the President of impeachment proceedings, was due at 6:00pm ET today. The White House has responded with a seven-page position answer.

There’s more here. They don’t refer to aquitted, or found not guilty. They specify the articles must be rejected by the Senate.
I believe this has meaning beyond just exonerating Pres. Trump.
As this letter points out the articles of impeachment don’t name any crime at all. With no accusation of a crime being committed what is there to exonerate Pres. Trump of?
His response should be... NUTS!
This is the dumbest, lamest argument a competent attorney could come up with.
I am severely disappointed.
The response should be TREASON charges against Brennan, Clapper, Comey, .....

The dems really killed themselves on this. Shif’s falsified reading of the call transcript was adolescent, probably illegal, and turned scrutiny onto himself.
Then they denied cross examination, legal counsel and equal time by the minority. They also ran interference for the whistleblower, who entered false testimony and had a spook change the form to allow hearsay.
This whole thing is Junior High School level pranking, and after this is over, the standard for impeachment needs to be brought back up to legit levels.

I just read the whole thing - perfect response and tossed in a few lies by the “prosecution” and attempts to cover up that they knew what they were trying had no legal basis.
