Well, theres Welcome To The Jungle (lip-synced by Jim Carrey in the Dirty Harry movie The Dead Pool), Paradise City, Sweet Child Of Mine from their first album and November Rain from their second . . . but that was basically the high point of their career. Certain radio stations play that stuff as if they were the second coming of Led Zeppelin.

I’m so tired of the Led Zeppelin tunes my local classic rock radio station plays. A lot of stuff from Physical Graffiti that I never much cared for.
There are a couple songs from LZ I wish they’d play: Black Dog and Rock and Roll from Led Zeppelin 4.
I never want to hear Stairway from Heaven again. It’s a great song, but I’ve burnt out on it.
I can’t say I’ve heard or haven’t heard the Axl songs you mentioned. If I don’t like a song I usually change the station pretty quickly.

He must be referring to this:

When I used to live in NJ, the classic rock stations played Black Dog and Rock And Roll non-stop, even more than Stairway. More than just occasionally, they would play the rare B-side Hey, Hey, What Can I Do as if it were supposed to be some sort of treat or something.
One band that never got too much airplay was Uriah Heep. The only song by them youll hear on US radio is Easy Livin, but theres a lot more to that band than just that.

Theres one Dylan Zimmerman song where the original was superior to many of its covers; JMO.

I agree about Uriah Heep. Easy Livin’ is a great song. But I haven’t heard even that one for a long time.
I’m really tired of hearing Steve Miller Band songs. They’re played so often, it makes me thing there’s some kind of payola scheme involved.

Joe Perry is a proud Republican. He stumped for both (yeah I know) mccain then Romney. Loudly stated he couldn’t stand Obama. Plus I had him autograph my pump’ CD years ago.

Speaking of that band, they used to be a lot more psychedelic. When they did Livin In The USA, that was sort of the start of their move towards more mainstream rock.
Heep were contemporaries of the other three main metal bands. I would recommend Gypsy, July Morning, Bird Of Prey, Poets Justice, Sunrise, even Sweet Lorraine, Pilgrim, Devils Daughter and others by them.

Hey Axl, I totally agree with you. Why don’t you run for President so we can all see how easily you would solve all our problems. How hard could it be? I promise that if you are on the ballot as the POTUS nominee of ANY party, I’ll vote for you.
