A once-sturdy nonpartisan civil service and equally assured nonpartisan courts may be too weakened to enforce a return to prior norms.

Civil service 'nonpartisan'? Is Joshua Zeitz drunk? Delusional? Or trying to play us for fools? Civil Service is almost a hundred percent democrat and committed to democrat goals. They worked to undermine President Trump since he's been elected... The 'norms' are liberal boilerplate crap.

Tear 'em down.

“A once-sturdy nonpartisan civil service “ whose unions are 100% Democrat fronts.

"He also shows (without pointing out) that the worst of the traditions, the politically biased ones, were mostly started by dems."

The problem is that he assigns "normality" to Democrat anti-Constitutional dictatorship, and that any attempt to return to a Constitutional Republic is revolutionary.

If I had had cancer for 8 years, and then the cancer was retreating quickly into remission, I would hope that I would never go back to normal. “Ah, kids, remember when we’d eat egg salad sandwiches at the hospital cafeteria after my treatments and I would puke then fall asleep at the table and my hair fell out and you all thought I was going to die? Sadly, we now have a new normal, and those times may be gone forever.”

Joshua Zeitz goes back to Nixon in this screed to ‘showcase power corruption’ when he could just as easily have looked at what Obama, his corrupt FBI, corrupt DOJ, IRS, and ‘intelligence’ did to Trump and Trump supporters.

He betrays himself and his premise with this creepy bias.

Very fascinating glimpse into the Demsheviks’ fears. Of course, by “non-partisan” they really mean “non-Commiepuke”.

True enough. His worldview does consider what the dems have done to be “normal” or an improvement. Now that you mention it that was, it probably explains why he didn’t point it out.

Back to normal assumes there is a “normal” to go back to.

Take, for example, three cherished institutions—White House news briefings, independent courts, nonpartisan law enforcement agencies and a nonpartisan civil service.

What has this guy been smoking?

And why is he not sharing?

There has never been a human in the history of earth more pampered than a modern President.

Actually it's a whole cadre of the Washington so-called "elites". They travel like rock stars, flying private and staying in lavish five star hotels and resorts.

If you saw the video of the infamous 2016 tarmac incident this past week take a look at the size of plane Loretta Lynch was flying on. Really? She has an entourage that huge? The Air Force used to fly brass around in C-21A (Lear 35) jets, much more appropriate (in size) for executive travel if the traveler's ego won't fit inside a commercial jet.

These people are not royalty. They are public servants.

“non partisan civil service”?

In 2020, 95% of federal employee campaign contributions went to Democrats.”

Good post. The perfect retort.

We can now expect that whenever there’s a Democrat House and Republican President, said President will be impeached.

And, true to form, Republicans won’t return the “favor” when the tables are turned.

Nope. Nor should they. I would just be happy with some pushback.

Well I hear from a lot of Rats, that impeaching Trump was "payback" for impeaching Clinton.

We can go back to normal, only if people are held accountable.

No doubt about that.

The difference being, of course, that BJ was/is as guilty as Frank Nitti, and our current president, despite a 3-year anal exam, was found to be about as corrupt as Mister Rogers.
