Tapping Trumpís Anger About 2016 Surveillance, White House Seeks Overhaul of Spying Law

WASHINGTON—Senior White House officials are discussing an overhaul of the government’s surveillance program for people in the U.S. suspected of posing a national-security risk, spurred in part by President Trump’s grievances about an investigation of a 2016 campaign adviser, according to people familiar with the matter.

The effort seeks to take advantage of the looming expiration of some spying powers next month, including portions of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, a Watergate-era law that Mr. Trump believes was improperly used to target his campaign, these people said.

Overhauling FISA has become a rallying cry for conservatives and allies of the president in the aftermath of a watchdog report detailing several errors made by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in its applications for surveillance of Mr. Trump’s campaign adviser, Carter Page. Some Republicans have called for upending FISA, prompting pushback from some in the administration, including Attorney General William Barr.

The plan, which is being spearheaded by officials within the White House Domestic Policy Council, is in the early stages and could face resistance from other parts of the Trump administration, including the National Security Council, which has generally advocated maintaining or expanding surveillance powers during Mr. Trump’s presidency.

Some administration officials have privately raised concerns that the new FISA effort could go too far, but officials working on the plan countered that they don’t intend to undermine the government’s core surveillance powers.

FISA governs how the FBI, the National Security Agency and other agencies conduct national security-related spying on domestic targets. The administration has said it supports a permanent renewal of the parts of the law due to lapse, including a currently halted NSA program that collects U.S. call data, which a growing number of Republicans and Democrats want to allow to expire.

National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien: “White House Was Never Provided any Intelligence Briefing on Russia Election Effort”

The corrupt, criminal, cowardly Deep State ....all the usual suspect including Obama’s DOJ and FBI......
were running at breakneck speed to “get Trump” and his associates (as candidate and as president).

QUOTING TOM FITTON, JUDICIAL WATCH PRESIDENT:
Obama’s State Dept was all hands on deck in terms of targeting Trump.

<><> meetings with Glen Simpson, Steele, Clinton aides, Sid Blumenthal and Clinton associate, Cody Shearer.
<><> Shocker-—there was more than one dossier going to the FBI and DOJ.....
<><> there was Christopher Steele’s dossier,
<><> and a second dossier created by the State Dept itself, targeting Trump.
<><> shows Jonathan Winer and Glen Simpson were in contact Sept 2016
<><> Winer immediately contacted Victoria Nuland, a top aide at the Obama State Dept.
<><> Post-election, they worked hand in glove with top Dem Steny Hoyer’s guy on Russian issues.

Obama’s FBI Was Giving Different Intelligence Briefings to Candidate Trump than to Candidate Clinton
GATEWAY PUNDIT | 6/23/2019 | Jim Hoft / FR Posted by bitt

The Democrats and liberal media insist that Russia wanted Trump to win over Crooked Hillary. The entire premise is ridiculous. The Russians had enough dirt on Hillary to fill the White House. The TRUTH is that the entire DC establishment including the Obama White House, the liberal media and the Obama Deep State wanted Hillary Clinton to win… and they worked tirelessly and illegitimately to make it happen. And still failed. On Sunday former prosecutory and Rep. Trey Gowdy joined Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures. (video) (Excerpt) Read more at thegatewaypundit.com ...

AND THIS Dems Colluded with foreign countries to generate propaganda to affect a Presidential Election.
They forced a bogus investigation, and in typical Dem fashion, they accused Trump of doing what they did......

.......there are dozens of memos that make up an actual diary of moment-by-moment events, during the FBI
investigation of Donald Trump (as candidate and as president), documented by Obama’s FBI Director Comey......

SOURCE: CONSERVATIVE TREEHOUSE | 4/9/2019 | SUNDANCE / FR Posted by bitt
A late day submission to DC Circuit Court in a FOIA case reveals the content of previously
unknown James Comey memos. Obama’s entire anti-Trump operation is memorialized in writing:
<><> how Obama’s FBI Director James Comey wrote down the sources and code-names assigned;
<><> how confidential sources engaged with FISA coverage initiated by Obama’s FBI;
<><> naming foreign governments assisting Obama and Hillary with their vile efforts;
<><> and the rollout plans for Obama’s phony investigation.....”by the book.”

During her ill-fated campaign Hillary bragged about “foreign governments” supporting her election.

Are these the same “foreign governments” Comey had assisting their efforts to frame Trump? (smirk)

That would mean Obama, Comey and Hillary were colluding with
foreign governments to meddle in our elections, wouldnt it?

FISA doesn’t need to be overhauled. It needs to be shut down. There should be no shadow courts in the United States.

“Political Espionage“

Former AAG Matthew Whitaker Discussed Upcoming IG Report on FISA Abuse and Trump Campaign Surveillance

Following leaked revelations that former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith manipulated evidence to attain a Title-1 surveillance warrant against U.S. person Carter Page to conduct political espionage against the Trump campaign, former AAG Matthew Whitaker discusses the IG investigation and upcoming IG report.

Whitaker notes the bigger issues are how the FISA process generally has been abused and potentially long-term ramifications.

It is also worth remembering it wasn’t just “wiretaps” that were gained.
<><> The FBI requested a type of surveillance generally reserved for tracking suspected terrorists.
<><> The FBI requested and received
<><>full Title-1 surveillance authority including:
<><> wiretaps, electronic surveillance, the use of bugs and tracking devices,
<><> physical surveillance, electronic and satellite geolocation surveillance......... and much more.

When Mr. Clinesmith manipulated evidence to attain the warrant he was working under the guidance of FBI supervisory agent Peter Strzok.

If the laws are not enforced there is no law anyway. Start with perp walking Comeny, Brennan, Clapper, McCabe, and Strzok into a penitentiary.

So this response is generated by Trump's "anger" about the government knowingly lying to the courts to set up illegal surveillance on innocent civilians, with the intent to overthrow the outcome of a presidential election.

Trump's anger? Like he's having a tantrum. I'm having a tantrum too. Every single person in this country should be having a tantrum about it. Stupid asses.

No government or entity should _ever_ have the power which DC possesses. It is only a matter of time until such power controls our government.

Oh, the spies (the power) already to control our elected officials and decide who we can vote for. Oops, did we just leak whatever on whoever, whenever we want to.

Duh

They can not be trusted with the power. Even when they abuse the power of law, they walk away free - no punishment. No justice at justice.
