LMAO.
I thought the Toronto fans were classy. They could have booed their team, who are very poor defensively, have not been doing well, are causing a lot of controversy in town - and who lost to a Zamboni driver back up.
Instead they put that all aside and cheered for the guy, in their own building.
Hockey fans are in general a classy lot.
There -- fixed it. LOL.
If Dave Schultz finds you he will beat you until you retract that statement.
Robinson was one of those players who had no fear of Shultz -- and for good reason. The fun starts around the 2:00 mark. You can tell from the look on Shultz's face that he knew it wasn't going to end well. It might have been the only time his teammates had to rescue him.
The best part of this clip is around the 5:00 mark ... when the officials are settling things down on the ice and Robinson is off to the side against the boards. A fan hands a beer over the glass to him, and he takes a sip. This is the stuff of legends, man. LOL.
This also happened two years ago with Chicago accountant and beer league goalie Scott Foster:

Gotta support the team.
The same thing happened a year earlier with the Chicago Blackhawks. An accountant was called and suited up for a game and won it.
Alberta’s Child — you should really delete the first word from your correction. I’m from Philly (even though my name is John Adams). Philly fans of any sport are brutal — to their own teams, everyone else’s team, and of course, Santa Claus. https://www.sbnation.com/2018/2/1/16946406/eagles-santa-claus-history-booing-snowballs
Never go ice fishing on a hockey rink! Ain't no fish there.
Care to elaborate.....the composer?
“Sadly, my dear friend Bronislaw Kazimierz was run over by a Zamboni, and killed, only a few years ago, whilst ice fishing.”
LOL! You just know there are people on here who think you are serious.
> the home team must have a guy in the stands who serves as the emergency third-string goalie for BOTH teams <
Interesting. But if a team runs out of goalies, why cant a member of that team just suit up as a goalie?
When this has happened before, the emergency goalie didnt get paid, as they sign a try-out contract.
If the goalie has previously had a pro contract, I think they get the minimum, maybe $500.
Ya, I think one of the articles states he got the $500 plus his jersey :)
They could do that, but the goalie position is so different than the others that youre probably better off with a 40+ year old amateur who has played the position a lot over the years than a regular NHL player who has never played it before.
The way I understand it, the emergency goalie doesnt get paid if he just dresses for the game as the backup ... and gets paid the $500 if he actually plays.
