St Joseph in Eureka is in that trial

Its efficacy anywhere is not well established. We are using it because so far its what we have but it is not likely to be the ultimate answer
Yes any drug that is effective against this disease is of strategic importance. The more the better.
We also need to really ramp up N95 production to the point where ordinary citizens can get them. With effective medicines and enough PPE for citizens we can get back to work and start digging out of the economy hole we are in.
It seems better option than Bill Gates and his vaccine.
Remdesivir suppresses the process by which the virus converts polyproteins into the building blocks needed for new virus replication inside the avoli cells. Once these virusus are created, they errupt through the cell causing the damage.
FDA in bed with big pharma $$$$
HC BAD!!
Seems more like an advert...”Ask your doctor if Remdesivir is Right for You”
The reason that hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) does not help advanced victims of the virus is the nature of its action. HCQ prevents entry of the virus through the ACE-2 receptor into the cell. Once in the cell, the virus hijacks the cell’s biochemical machinery to replicate more viruses. Several of these replicated viruses erupt through the cell walls, causing great damage, which triggers a reaction that causes major consequences.
So, you have to prevent the virus from getting into the alveoli cells as soon as possible to prevent the replication process and the growth of the viral population. If not stopped soon enough, so much damage is triggered when the immune response really creates havoc.
Thats one of the theories. As I said the treatment for this will likely be multimodal and may be phased. We need those studies everyone reviles so much
