Yeah, okie dokie.

#metoo movement is dead - it committed suicide when it failed to actually represent all women coming forward with sexual allegations, etc. Sending Van HoutenIdiot the memo..../s

But you know she thinks Tara Reade is a slut or a nut or both and her vote for Biden is assured. Deep impact of #MeToo, there!

I missed the whole GOT series; shame on me.

A good series that unfortunately went off the rails early in its seventh season. Many fine looking female actresses, even those cast into "homely" roles.

I thought, 'Why did that scene have to be nude?

I dunno. Cause you got a nice rack?

I watched episodes from web sites. Never going to give any money to HBO. Show was a total crap fest that last season.

IIRC, the sex and nudity in Black Book seemed “natural” to the plot (which involved seducing Nazis as part of resistance activities), and showed how much the characters sacrificed themselves. It did not seem at all gratuitous.

In most films, some artful photography could get the idea across without graphic nudity and sex. Sex-obsessed pigs like Harvey Weinstein created an industry situation where graphic nudity and sex were ‘expected” of young actresses, who had to act like whores to have a career. The actresses sold themselves, but had little choice. The film moguls also were pleased to increase their audience by pretending porn was somehow sophisticated and “honest”. Carice Van Houten is correct, even if a bit late.

All, and I mean ALL of the nudity in GOT was gratuitous.

And none added to the story one whit.

In all seriousness, she does have a point. All those great movies from the 1940s and 50s, none of them required their female leads to strip down. It really is exploitive. It would be like a store owner requiring his check-out clerks to work topless. It just isn’t necessary.

I agree. Many films today include superfluous nudity, violence, and foul language.

I believe this is done to titillate, create 'buzz', and appeal to the largest lowest common denominator.

I wonder how many film editors and directors have a private stash of deleted scenes and unused footage.

The ladies in 40's-50's films smoldered under bosom-bustin, tight fitting evening wear. I recently watched I WALK ALONE (1947) with Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas. Kristine Miller and Lizabeth Scott were both stunning in that movie.

“Carice Van Houten says the ‘Me Too’ movement made her question her nude scenes in ‘Game of Thrones:’...”

I see two good reasons right there.

The most hypocritical people of all are those preachy actors who demand more and more gun control. Then in their films they constantly wave guns around. They shoot people left and right, almost casually.

Yes, Robert De Niro. I’m talking about you.

I remember seeing a talk show interview she did during Game of Thrones where she was laughing about all the nudity she did, she made the comment that the producers always said "let the Dutch girl get naked, she'll do it!". She's pretty much built her career out of getting naked on camera, for good reason too, she's got an incredible body.

I don't have any sympathy for her newfound morality. She's made a lot of money from showing her tits and ass. It's not like she's naive enough to not know why they wanted her naked.

It's like the retired hookers that suddenly find Jesus. The hypocrisy is a bit much.

I don’t question her nude scenes. They were hot. She looked better than the platinum dragon queen girl.

As a hobbyist photographer I have found many women over 30 would love to have tastefully taken, well done, photographs of all genres....including artistic nudes.

The problem is always between the ears. They need to give themselves permission to be happy with their body even when the world tells them they are not beautiful because of a stretch mark from childbirth or their breasts not standing up like a 19 year older.

The actress in this article has begun to think she is being judged for her nude scenes.....they may have been gratuitous and she may have monetized her skin for her career....and now she is trying to shift to monetizing something else

Wait a minute!

I see a big conflict here.

I thought liberated women were supposed to feel, look and act like sluts anytime they wanted, and now this metoo group is saying they should turn puritan again?

I’m confused.
